Re: External Hard Drive not detectable

Sorry for the long wait. I finally managed to solve the problem by doing nothing; somehow the Pi or the drive automagically fixed it.

"Stopping" XBMC while not in use?

Hi, I'm finally pretty satisfied with my Pi experience, but there's still one thing that bothers me: XBMC runs all the time (which is perfectly good), but it takes about 30% CPU load, which is definitely not ok. I tried stopping it using SIGSTOP and hoped a CEC-interrupt would SIGCONT it again - tha...

Re: External Hard Drive not detectable

Little update: I tried a brand new Raspbian-image and it didn't work either. I think I can assume there's a hardware problem on one of the sides.

Re: External Hard Drive not detectable

It worked just fine, I had some issues with NTFS (but that was most likely a FS problem) and automount.

I don't know exactly what you mean by gsh, but plugging it in before booting doesn't work either.

But it worked perfectly well some weeks ago! Same enclosure, same HDD, same cable, same Pi.

Re: External Hard Drive not detectable

Self powered, it spins up and tail doesn't say anything. If I unplug it from the Pi and plug it into my PC it is mounted immediately. Dmesg on the PC says: [46592.274927] usb 2-6.4: New USB device found, idVendor=067b, idProduct=2507 [46592.274932] usb 2-6.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2...

Do you read what I write or just post random thoughts? It has nothing to do with NTFS, dmesg and /dev/sdX don't care about the FS.

NTFS, but that actually doesn't matter, even ext4 can't be mounted without being recognized

External Hard Drive not detectable

Hi folks, I'm desperately trying to mount an external hard drive, but it doesn't work; - It worked more or less out-of-the-box weeks ago - I didn't change anything (except apt-get upgrade etc. ) - It's not even producing dmesg/fdisk -l / /dev/sdX - stuff The drive works just fine on my PC and I can ...

Re: How to get high quality audio from R-Pi?

What about an externel usb sound card? Without additional "logic" the board itself can only output via cinch and HDMI.

By the way: this won't update itself by apt-get upgrade, right?

Re: RPi.gpio v0.3.1a and Raspbian

I have similar problems here; neither Python 2 nor 3 seem to recognize the GPIO module: "import RPi.GPIO Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> ImportError: No module named GPIO" importing only RPi works, but that's it. After several tries, I copy/pasted exactly techp...

Re: Automated .* to h264 script

Posting here seems to be very tricky, no spoiler or real code tags...

If you click on "raw" on pastebin it seems correct, without extra characters, by the way is there some way to edit my original post for new versions? I couldn't find anything like that.

No, it's written on a Fedora machine, so that's a Pastebin problem. I'll check this error later.

For a good bash scripter it would probably be only 5min work or something like that, but I never really did bash so even easy tasks are pretty hard for me. Don't expect to much, maybe it does 10times more work than necessary or assimilate you into the borg hive... who knows
