Re: RetroPie mame4all controls not working

leiptrstormr, I love you. Thank you <3 cacophony555, I have read that on the wiki as well. That may be true, but the tab menu doesnt offer an option to quit the game via a gamepad. Sticking to the retro-controller (did I recall that name correctly?) works better for this project :\. Thanks again guy...

Re: Installing between Modem & Router?

Well hey thanks for the info! After finding out more about squid I decided not to implement it. Turns out it can cause problems to end users in situations such as online purchases. We do a lot of that in this house :P. Would be nice to block torrent traffic however. Some tenants have used torrents a...

Installing between Modem & Router?

I want to make a server that lies between the router and modem. I am liking the idea of using Squid as a Proxy-Cache tool (as well as other features (less important) like ad-blocking and traffic denial (deny torrent traffic)). I can't find anything on how Squid is supposed to work. It seems like it ...

gPSP won't save controls

Hey guys, Im on emulationstation making a system inside a dead gameboy DMG. Anyways... No matter what I do, launch gPSP from the terminal, edit the keys.txt file or anything, the controls will not save. I edit the controls within the emulator and can play with the new controls. I safely exit using t...

Re: Need Help with WPA-Supplicant

Bump. I still need help with, more specifically, cycling to another wifi using WPA_supplicant. I don't have difficulty with the script writing, but more of HOW I can tell wpa_supplicant to try a different open wifi. If I restart it using /etc/init.d/network restart I am sure to get the same open net...

Need Help with WPA-Supplicant

Hey guys, So I can get internet working fine on my pi. However I want WPA-supplicant to connect to an open wifi source that does not have a Captive portal. I need two solutions and cannot find answers :S. Help! 1) Blacklist certain open wifi hotspots like "ATT Hotspot" and other known captive portal...

Shutdown if no internet

Hey guys, I'm making a headless unit to become a public NAS wherever I go. I don't have my 2Ah battery pack yet but plan to have this thing all set and ready. The NAS is working fine but I have a possible problem that needs solving. I gt absolutely no feedback if the Pi does not connect to a network...

Re: Torrents, Media Center, and Where To Buy

Yes there are both torrent clients and media center setups for the raspberry pi. I have played 720p video no problem. As for automating the process, it may be a bit harder as some people release their 'public domain' documentaries across multiple split archives (ex: Charlie_Chaplin.r01 Charlie_Chapl...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hello, I'm darkenvy. I have a problem with computers and have to buy them on craigslist and such to fix them up. Fortunately I always make SOME profit but I can't stop fiddling with new toys :P. I couldn't pass the Pi up! haha My current project is to setup the pi as a VPN tunnel but am having probl...

Re: Build my own customized Raspbian image

I used something called Remastersys once before to prepare an image for a set of computers. Unfortunately due to drama, the guy hosting this project quit. He is charging money for the source or something. Idk if the last version would work with the Pi or not but it's worth looking into :)

Re: Small mAh battery for UPS

Well there's a problem there because the Pi works just fine on both the battery pack and USB. I power the Pi from the USB all the time and have no problem. I just heard it was bad practice. Is there a way to check power consumption without the use of a meter? By the way, all I have plugged into the ...

Small mAh battery for UPS

Hey guys, I have been lurking on this forum for far too long to not create an account. I am here to stay ;) . I switched from RaspBMC over to Raspbian to check it out and setup a dedicated VPN tunnel on it. When I will be using it I will be on my laptop and thus be plugged in via USB. I have heard s...
