Re: PI Zero

I was just saying I read Niven before I read Heinilen, Sheeesh! Plus Niven may have got it from popular culture you could go ask Larry Niven he is still around. To go ask Heinilen could be an issue he died 1988 so I gues we cannot realy ask him unless Ouija Board anyone? Its a pointless argument I a...

If you want to build a network of any kind then the headless zero is a much cheaper option compare 32 zeros £128 compared to 32 x RPi B's £1,120 which makes things infuriation when a project is looking at networks for whatever reason. ;) And of course Zeros contribute less to the Heat Death of the ...

rather than some design to kill it's availability. What made you say that? Why would a charitable organisation want to kill a device that makes them no money because it was priced too low and they don't feel able to own up to making a little mistake - oh wait ......... Just be patient. Equilibrium will be arrived at sometime! Hopefully before the heat death of the universe. :? I was hoping to build a super computer with a bunch or RPi Zero's and maybe use them to calculate the heat death of the universe and the contribution millions of RPi's make to that end. :D ...

Re: Why is the Osborne effect wrong?

The one I am chasing is the RPi Zero a pre-anouncement of a pending forcast of stock would be nice. A new model is not an issue when there are no bare board old models to get. The only stock the suppliers will be stuck with are the ones they are trying to bundle with over priced un-needed extras. ;)

Re: Why is the Osborne effect wrong?

It is not wrong if in the run up to a new relese you turn to a JIT (Just In Time) model for production and you start running down stocks of the old production model. The numbers left will obviously sit but if they are modest they will be in demand to replace items broken in distribution to users who...

Re: Dropped my raspberry on the floor

I wonder if this is the inverse of "Moore's Law" that the peception of any given RPi's speed halves every year and a half ;) Given the subjective nature of percieved speed maybe there is some relatavistic component to the inverse that may change the time element of the inverse of "Moore's Law". :?: ...

Re: Using blender?

For the cost of 15 RPi's you could buy an awsome Graphics card to use the GPU for renderering and thats not to detract from the little RaspberryPi allotment (it's not really a farm) being awsome to behold. ;-)

Re: Duel video output

There is a way to have multiple screens under the control of one RPi but you also need a RPi for each screen. You can use PiWall and theoretically if you are prepared to accept delays there's a posibility of making the screens wireless and then use model "A" RPi's and nano Wifi. You understand this ...
