Re: Multi purpose server to remotely control the Pi

You are right, your solution is simpler in many circumstances!
In fact I focused to write a front-end that was not just Media Center, but that can supports multiple applications ;)

Multi purpose server to remotely control the Pi

It all began because, in family, we use the Pi to watch movies ..so I decided to make a web interface to OMXPlayer that let you browse from the local files! I then make a little web-shell to have more control on what happens, and now I wonder what else one would manage remotely from the Pi? So ..I t...

Controlling a floppy disk with the GPIO

You can see a lot of people in the internet playing good music with a floppy disk. I wish to tray, I know something how to control a floppy (which bit in which pin) But I know nothing about electronic part, like the right voltage. Do you think I can directly connect the GPIO pins to the floppy disk'...

I've set /boot/arm128_start.elf as /boot/start.elf and it worked!

Thx!

Remote control Web Interface?

Hi to all, wouldn't be nice to have an access to the Pi by a web interface, where e.g. you can choose the movie to play with OMXPLayer, or to add a new file to download(like wget) or to share files(like an ftp) and go one, with the same interface? does exist a web interface like that? i've seen a bi...

Re: Skype on RPi?

Hi to all, if I may I suggest, you could take a cue from the RPC system of Transmission (the bittorrent client). It has a JSON-RPC (really easy to use also without any client) via HTTP. the client is a HTTP (so you can access it by remote too) web site (no php or something else) which communicate wi...

Automounting usb drives whit label

Hi, I'm using Debian Squeeze, with no graphical interface running. When I plugin an external usb pen drive, it (against what's usually expected) is not automatically mounted. So i made this script that mount all removable disks using the label as mountpoint (like /media/TOSHIBA and not /media/sdabc1...

Difference in performance between using HDMI or RCA?

I finally got my RPi, I'm actually using the RCA output as a monitor and i'm planning to try the HDMI output, but before I buy the cables I have to know if the performance of the Pi using the HDMI output instead of the RCA one is going better or worse. Since using it by command line is very fast and...
