and I was curious, is it possible to write some sort of program with a javscript compiler with a simple line of code like
console.log 22/7, and have the pi continuously write out and record the digits?

try using

sudo apt-get install chromium

that installs a version of google chrome that might load faster.

Scoured the Web for info on the monitor. No info. I will assume it is 12v. I am building a portable pi, so, is there any way possible I could get a 12v power supply that is also portable hooked up to this?

Ah.. whoops...yeah I don't think those two things have much correlation

Yes. You can. Just plug an HDMI into the projector and the Pi. For a composite, hold shift while your Pi boots, edit the preferences document, and uncomment the composite you're using.
