Re: Solenoid Locking Project - HELP

I am unable to find a solid state DC relay from Digikey or Farnell in the UK.

The seller isn't dubious, it is in fact a business account with many sales and great reviews.
I'm awaiting reply on the activation current though.

Re: Solenoid Locking Project - HELP

After a lot more research, it turns out that some relays are simply configured for AC and some aren't.

I have no idea why the DC ones are only available from china and the USA though.

I'm awaiting a response concerning the ampere input for the relay.

Re: Solenoid Locking Project - HELP

Thank you Ivan.
I am going to contact the ebay seller for more details.

Have you any idea why all the amazon relays are 'dc to ac'? They almost appear to CONVERT it from DC to AC.

Solenoid Locking Project - HELP

Greetings. I apologise in advance if this in the wrong place, or this confuses you. I'm a relative newbie to any kind of electronics. As a basic, starting project, I thought I'd make a face-recognition solenoid locking door, adapting from this easy tutorial: http://learn.adafruit.com/raspberry-pi-fa...

Re: Encryption Software

I've tried all the methods provided, but none of them allow me to display a GUI.

Plus, when trying to run and compile truecrypt, I enter the terminal commands and hit enter, and just get a blank terminal which I have to restart.

Encryption Software

Hi there, I am currently looking for some encryption software to run on my raspberry pi. It will need to fully encrypt a USB flash drive. I am looking for software that will work with a GUI. I cannot find any basic instructions for truecrypt with a GUI and the only options I've found so far are term...

Re: No password on Raspbian?

Thanks for the replies.
I am required to use a password when using sudo in LXterminal, but where do I find the options in raspi-config to enable the password on boot?
