Use sudo apt-get install wicd wicd-curses will give u a nice graphic interface to service a static IP

For a simple way to a static IP just euro apt-get install wicd wicd-curses
And then use the graphical interface to set static

pi camera

I have set the output of my camera (using motion) to /mnt /usb but I am not getting any recordings and the camera appears to crash temporarily when it detects motion. Any help appreciated

Tried many distros reformatted via windows, gparted. Parted. Partition magic. Fat16. Fat 32. Strange thing is they all worked perfectly a couple of months ago, pi has not been in use, I am currently setting it up as a passive security camera so would like additional storage capacity.

Strange one any help appreciated.

My pi will boot from any 4gb card I own. Used to boot from my 16 and 32gb cards as well. Now only recognises the 4gb. Tried noobs. Img files used dd method on opensuse even tried windows (which is against my religion) help please
