Raspbian Kernel Headers

How do i get the raspbian kernel headers? where are they located and how can i access them and put them in the right folder so that i can make a wireless device driver use them. Thank You.

Kernel headers are not present in the folder that my device driver is trying to use.

The kernel version is raspbian 3.6.11 Raspbian

I cd to the directory of where the kernel is (after i ran a command to compile it) and now I run the "sudo make install kernel modules" command and get the error above. I just want to finish compiling the kernel and install it. Thanks :ugeek:

when using the 'make install modules' command in my linux-rpi-3.2.27 directory, I get this error:

scripts/gen_initramfs_list.sh: Cannot open 'y'
make[1]: *** [usr/initramfs_data.cpio] Error 1

Assuming I have downloaded the kernel source; How do i move the "kernel headers" into the lib/modules/ directory so I can compile something else. It is currently empty. THanks.

To get the most recent kernel you must use: sudo rpi-update (also for latest system files). But you may risk to get something that does not work as it should. Ok so I've given your very thorough reply a good read and started tinkering after. My result is that: Whenever I change the settings nothing happens. I.E. I go to "uncomment" one of the omxoptions = ['o':'both'] and change it to something like that. and nothing happens as far as audio in either HDMI...

Talk to me about your audio connection.. Is it a connection plugged into your headphone jack on the Pi or HDMI? Jeff Ive got video working! The audio connections ive tried are HDMI and headphone jack. I would ideally like to be able to use both. Do i need to configure something or whatever? THANKS

I should mention I am running debian wheezy and have tried many of the downloads posted in other threads trying to get kweb to work. When I hit the play button nothing happens. I have the newest versions of omxplayer and youtube-dl. What am i missing here?

Do you have youtube-dl and omxplayer installed? Jeff whenever i try to install them it says i have the newest versions. So yup i assume i do have them. Since i posted this i was actually able to get video working (but not audio). but i rebooted improperly i think. Now i am sort of back at square 1 ...
