Re: Wifi was working on RPi3 B+/Stretch, but stopped

Thank you! Ok, I returned 'interfaces' to being basically an empty file (just comments). After a reboot the wifi returned. What's going on here is I am setting this up for a friend. He wants to use it on ethernet with a static ip. But at my house I'm using wifi with dhcp. I'm hoping to have it be pl...

Re: Wifi was working on RPi3 B+/Stretch, but stopped

That's what I thought. I didn't knowingly do anything else on the Desktop. Well.....I did do one other thing at the console. I edited the interfaces file at /etc/network to call out an eth0 interface when I want to be on wire. This file was almost empty before I did that. I did not add a wlan0 inter...

Wifi was working on RPi3 B+/Stretch, but stopped

Unlike others who have reported trouble getting Wifi going with Raspbian Stretch, mine worked right out of the box with the latest image of Stretch on my Rpi 3 B+. Once associated with my router it worked fine. Everything was fine until I inadvertantly shut it off by clicking on the Wifi icon on the...

Re: Overlay to remap Pi 3 UART

I just want to thank PhilE and anyone/everyone else who contributed to this UART fix for the Pi 3. I have a project where I'm communicating with an Arduino via a serial port using /dev/ttyAMA0. I recently bought a Pi3, which I LOVE, but was chagrined when I couldn't get it to talk to the Arduino. I'...

Re: Mirrordirector

Thank you! Yes, that was the problem. Comcast sent me a new router to swap in a few weeks ago. Everything else on the house network worked and I didn't notice an issue with the pi as I don't go on the net with it except for updates. Apparently the pi was not able to update resolv.conf automatically ...

Mirrordirector

I haven't been able to use apt-get for several days. Cannot connect to the mirrordirector. Does anyone know, is the mirrordirector broke? Or is the problem on my end? Thanks.
