RPi as DSL Modem - or cable, GSM, or Fibre

After doing quite a bit of searching around the web, I've been unable to find any mention of building a DSL modem, using an RPi as a basis. So I thought I'd post it here to see if anyone knew more about such a thing than google was able to tell me. :)

Re: OBD-II STN1110

I got an OBD<->RPi system set up and running a couple years ago. I bought an OBD/CAN interface mailorder from the Czech Republic. It plugged into the OBD port under my car's dashboard and its USB cable into the Pi. Running on the Pi was some FOSS called obdgpslogger. Then I plugged in a wifi dongle ...

Re: "apt-get source" error: need entry in sources.list

Yes, that's it. Thanks much. Note to Raspbian/Debian developers: The default /etc/apt/sources.list should read: deb http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ wheezy main contrib non-free rpi # Uncomment code line below, save, and run "apt-get update", in order to # be able to fetch package source...

Re: "apt-get source" error: need entry in sources.list

Nope. Not the solution. I've had exactly that in /etc/apt/sources.list for more than three months, during which time I've done more than a dozen updates.

Have you ever downloaded a the source code for a package?

"apt-get source" error: need entry in sources.list

Wanting to download the source code to a package, I run apt-get source --download-only [package_name] This yields the error: E: You must put some 'source' URIs in your sources.list 1) There are several files called "sources.list" on my system (Raspian). Which one? 2) What are some URIs for Raspian s...

Re: Unable to Connect to Raspberry via Bluetooth

Similar problems here. I've managed to pair the Pi to my android. This is indicated by blueterm. I was then able to transfer a file from the Pi to the android. But I can't get blueterm to give me a login prompt. Any tips for that?

Re: warnim after sudo apt-get dist-upgrade?

wanted to play an mp3. As root installed mpg123 and as regular user played a (known to work) tune. mpg123 started, played the tune fine for five to fifteen seconds, then hung... the entire system: the term for root was frozen, couldn't communicate over the (wifi) network with the system (no ssh, no ...

Re: Bluetooth serial terminal using JY-MCU Bluetooth module

The documentation at http://www.piaccess.com/trac/wiki/Linux_BlueZ_Bluetooth_Serial_Setup appears to have disappeared. I couldn't find anything there. If there's another place to get the documentation, or if someone downloaded or saved off that documentation, please post it here for the rest of us. ...
