Re: WIFI available, but only after reboot.

Look at your /etc/network/interfaces. You may need to add "iface wlan0 inet dhcp" without the quotations. If that does not work, try adding allow-hotplug wlan0 iface wlan0 inet manual wpa-roam /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf Then open /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and edit the ssid...

Re: Trying to email my IP from /etc/network/interfaces

Try adding the script to /etc/rc.local . Rc files automatically run on boot, so add

Code: Select all

./home/pi/mailmyip
after the "fi" line.

Re: 'mathkernel' missing LSB tags ??

To the op, a simple solution to the error is to try the code: sudo apt-get remove wolfram* Only problem is that it removes the entire wolfram-alpha package, so don't use the command if you use wolfram alpha. It helped fix my problem I was having. Credit goes to DougieLawson A post about this same er...

Re: Best way to bypass firewall that blocks websites?

Guys, this is a simple project I am working on for fun. The firewall has blocked wesbites that I use, such as youtube. I understand that I could get into trouble doing illegal activity on the network, but I assure you I will not be doing anything suspicious. I have already been able to bypass it by ...

Thanks for the quick reply. Ive been trying to get Tor to work, but I cant get it to work. Best way to bypass firewall that blocks websites?

Hey guys. So I created a RPi access point using the tutorial: http://blog.sip2serve.com/post/48420162196/howto-setup-rtl8188cus-on-rpi-as-an-access-point . The access point works good, and it receives an ip from dhcp. The sad part is, the lan I connect my pi into has a firewall that prevents certain...

Re: allow someone else access to my raspi via the internet

Double check the ip address of your pi matches the port forward ip. What port # did you use? Make re your friend is using external ip and correct port number. Are you able to ssh into the pi using the ip address of tbe pi?

Re: allow someone else access to my raspi via the internet

Service name does not matter. You can choose whatever you like. The important parts are the ip and port #. Also, I would suggest adding a static ip to you rpi so that you do not have to keep changing the port forward. There are plenty of tutorials on static ip. Just search the forums.

Re: allow someone else access to my raspi via the internet

Hey. You could use a windows computer and open command prompt, type "ipconfig" without quotations and find your default gateway. Should be something like 192.168.1.1 or something similar. Go to an internet browser and type that gateway ip in. You may have to login into the router, so figure out the ...

Thanks for the reply. I purged ifplugd, but still internet cuts off after I plug in wifi adapter. I currently have a clean install of raspbian and did apt-get update and upgrade before purging ifplugd.

Wifi adapter kills ethernet when plugged in? [Solved]

Hey. So I have been trying to create a wifi access point by bridging eth0 and wlan0. I did a clean install, and when I connect ethernet, I can ssh into the pi. However, plugging in wifi adapter along with ethernet somehow kills the internet connection through ethernet, thus I cannot ssh into it. Thi...

Ok, so I decided to do a fresh install of raspbian. Then I ran into the problem posted on this thread: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=65227&p=480305#p480305 After removing wolfram, I rebooted and ran sudo update-rc.d pinaple defaults and I get this code: update-rc.d: using de...

Hey Richard, well the interesting thing is, I just got my RPi for christmas, so I installed raspbian around Dec.31. So the raspbian I currently use is the latest version that was released on Dec. 20, 2013. Yet, I still was encountering similar problems to the op involving mathkernel. This is just cl...
