Re: Can't iperf to my Windows 10 machine

FWIW, I realized I wasn't running Samba on the Pi. Now that's fixed and the Pi shows up on my network in File Explorer, but I still get the iperf error.

Re: Can't iperf to my Windows 10 machine

Thanks for the tip. If I turn of Windows Defender, though, I get the same problem. I'm also running Malwarebytes, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything relevant to this issue (it protects against e-mail and web threats).

Can't iperf to my Windows 10 machine

Newb here. I've installed iperf on my Pi 4 and my WIn10 desktop and laptop. I can run iperf between the desktop and laptop, and I can run speedtest-cli on the Pi, but when I try to run iperf between the desktop (server) and Pi (client), I get a "connect failed: Operation in progress" error on the Pi...

Using a desktop PC for Pi development

Noob here. I've had a Pi 1 and a Pi 2 which I basically just powered up and never did anything with because I didn't have an application in mind. Now I have an application, and a Pi 4, and I'm thinking more seriously about the mechanics of developing a Pi application. I can hook up a separate monito...

Re: Seeking feedback on case

So, I totally understand if the price puts your project over budget. Nothing to be done about that. I see that as a different issue, however, from rejecting the case simply because it costs more than the pi. If your project has to be visible (e.g. it can't be buried within or behind a bunch of other...

Re: Seeking feedback on case

$US 75 + tax + shipping (figure around $US 12 for ground shipping within US). International orders may also be subject to import duties. I'm glad you like the case.

Re: Seeking feedback on case

So, what colors and materials would you prefer, and at what price(s)?

Re: Seeking feedback on case

Thanks for your interest, Gary. This is still in the R&D stage, I'm afraid. What would you be willing to pay for the walnut example shown? Is there another color or material you'd prefer?

Re: Seeking feedback on case

Thanks. Why 4? Would you need space for a drive?

Seeking feedback on case

I just recently started playing around with the Pi and immediately found the cases less than ideal. During development I don't mind using a generic case that hugs the board, exposing all the ports where they are. When I'm done, though, I not only don't care for the look of these cases, I really don'...

Looking for a case where all cables come out the back

When developing a Pi project, I don't mind using a generic case that hugs the board, exposing all the ports where they are. I'm working on a media server though, and I not only don't care for the look of these cases when placed with my A/V equipment, I really don't like the cables coming out all ove...

Pi 2 specs

Can someone point me to some definitive specs for the Pi 2? I'm specifically interested in Ethernet speed (100 mbps or gigabit?) and USB version (3.0 or 2.0?). I appreciate answers to these questions, but I'd really like to see the actual specs posted somewhere authoritatively. Thanks.

Re: Pi not appearing on Windows 7 network

Have you edited the /etc/samba/smb.conf file yet? Yup. I Made a copy of the original, then enabled security by uncommenting security = user and added the following to the end: [backups] comment = Backup Folder path = /media/WIFIBACKUP1/backups valid users = @users force group = users create mask = ...

Yup, using the inet address from ifconfig. No luck.

Ugh. I was hoping not to have to resort to that. As a noob I just assumed this sort of thing happens all the time and all you have to do is x. Guess not.

Pi not appearing on Windows 7 network

I've just configured my first Raspberry Pi. It's able to access my secure WiFi network and browse the web, download and install patches, etc., but it doesn't appear anywhere in the Network listing in Windows Explorer. Since I'll be using it as an NAS, I need to fix this. I've installed and initiated...
