Re: Sleep Mode - and or turn off backlight?

Hi, I'am running my raspberry pi and the official touchscreen for over 7 days / 24h now. I use a small motion sensor to control the backlight. It works fine so far, no problems at all! The only thing I noticed: The display does not know it's status (if it is on or off) sometimes. Before I was asking...

Re: Sleep Mode - and or turn off backlight?

Hi,

I have also installed the latest firmware update on my pi.

No more problems turning the display on/off or "waking up" after a couple of hours just by touching it.

Best regards,
Christian

Re: RPi Touchscreen - How to turn it off?

Hi,

everything is written / discussed in this topic viewtopic.php?f=108.

That's how you control it:
echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/bl_power
echo 1 > /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/bl_power
Works fine for me!

Christian

Re: Sleep Mode - and or turn off backlight?

Hi,

Thank you guys!

echo 1 > /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/bl_power

Works great for me. Fantastic feature.
I will try it with a PIR and Running my Pi 24/7.

Re: Sleep Mode - and or turn off backlight?

Great to hear that! The possibility to turn of the display by code, will make it to the perfect rasperry pi display! Before using the official raspberry pi display, I also used a touchscreen (HDMI). It was possible to turn it on/off using a relais breakout board. The official display does not suppor...

Re: crontab does not perform network check

Hi, I think i fixed the problem on my own. The full path to ifconfig etc. was missing. I added three aliases and now it seems to work. alias ifup='/sbin/ifup' alias ifdown='/sbin/ifdown' alias ifconfig='/sbin/ifconfig' echo "Performing Network check for wlan0"; if ifconfig wlan0 | grep -q "inet Adre...

crontab does not perform network check

Hi, I have installed two crontabs: * * * * * /usr/bin/checknetwork * * * * * /usr/bin/gpio-test2.py The second line is a python script to control my piface. It works well and is executed every minute! But the first line is not executed at all. If i call the checknetwork skript directly, it reconnect...

Re: Stop at "Entering Runlevel 2" prevents my Pi from Bootin

Hi Joe, Hi DeeJay,

I used /bin/bash and deleted my changes in the file.

Now my pi is booting normally. Thank you so much!

Now I backup my SD before going on :-)

Stop at "Entering Runlevel 2" prevents my Pi from Booting

Hi,

I have Raspian installed on my pi.

Yesterday I did some change to rc.local file.

After rebooting my pi stops at "Entering Runlevel 2".
I am not able to enter anything or using CTRL+C to get to console.

What can I do? Any ideas?

Hi,

no, this does not help. It continues to run in a loop. I have no possibility to run sudo nano to edit the wpa_supplicant again.

Any ideas?

DHCPDISCOVER in endless Loop on startup

Hi, I am running Raspberry pi with raspian installed. Due to wrong entries in wpa_supplicant file, my pi is stuck in an endless DHCPDISCOVER mode during boot of my device.
