Re: 433Mhz Reciever for existing devices

Yep,
I can confirm it's a 433Mhz 'MISOL' weather station
Maybe someone has already built a receiver for this one ?

Re: 433Mhz Reciever for existing devices

This may well be the forum I'm seeking. I have a weather staion in my garden (See picture) I inherited it with the house purchase. I do not have the reciever all you see is all i got. Is it possible to build a reciever with the Pi to pick up the signals from my mast. The cups spin freely and the van...

Newbie to weather

I inherited this with my new house, sadly there is no control panel/display.
Can anyone tell me if it is useable ?
Has anyone got/used one ?

I would like to display wind speed and direction etc.

Re: Automatic Flag Raise and Lower.

I have no idea how to drive a piface board but it looks to have 2 relays with changeover contacts so assuming the DC motor you choose does not require more amps than the relay can switch you could wire them like this to enable your motor to be drive in both directions. https://i.imgur.com/DyINjRT.j...

Hot to attach an image to a message

I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times before but I'm having bother.
How do I add an image to a message ? How do I get permission to add an image to a message.
When I click on the 'img' on the menu bar all I get is

Re: Automatic Flag Raise and Lower.

Would need to know a lot more about the board you have and a picture ( which is missing by the way ) is not going to be much help. Connecting a 16x2 LCD will depend on what gpio you have free that the add-on board is not using. Please excuse my lack of knowing, how do I attach an image to the messa...

Re: Automatic Flag Raise and Lower.

There is no need for any switches to be mounted at the top of the flag pole , if you use a little ingenuity. https://i.imgur.com/WSk2SSAm.jpg So here we have the flag pole showing both the flag up and down positions, now using simple magnetic switches like those used in alarm systems. We mount one ...

Re: Automatic Flag Raise and Lower.

Stepper motors are powerful enough, I don't see a need for a gearbox ?? I agree on the strength factor, many stepper motors (but not all) will be strong enough, but if the motor isn't powered it can freely spin and the flag will fall down. Using a worm and wheel gear box would prevent this from hap...

Re: Automatic Flag Raise and Lower.

Agreed, maybe just one stepper with forward revers rotation.
Only need the limit switches in case of rope slip!!

Re: Raspberry Pi - Sunrise/Sunset Timer for Christmas Lights

Yes, it can be done. Will we do it for you? Unlikely. We'll help you learn, but the process is all yours. How big a flag? How tall a pole? Do you have mains power nearby? You'll need limit switches for stepper motors, unless you can guarantee the flag mechanism will never slip. Many thanks for the ...

Re: Raspberry Pi - Sunrise/Sunset Timer for Christmas Lights

Smashing project, Now can somebody modify it for me, I want to raise and lower a flag on a flagpole at sunrise and sunset, This has to be done automatically and most times unattended We can use dc motor or a steppe to raise and lower the flag on a chord. A stepper would be preferred because the leng...

Python Astronomy

I would like to find out if anyone has written any code to control an 'Equatorial Mount' driven by stepper motors. With GPS installed it should be possible for a fully loaded automatic 'Go to' sytem to be developed for the Pi. Modern telescopes calculate their own position using GPS. Does anyone kno...

Re: Connecting stepper motor to Raspberry pi

Does anyone have any Python code for the PI to control the TB6560 single axis module?
I'd be very grateful for any help.

The only inputs are Step, Direction, Pulse and 5v,

Many thanks

More stepper issues with TB6560

My single axis stepper board TB6560 has Step, Direction, Enable and 5V inputs. Anyone point me in the right direction for the CORRECT Python code to run this board from my Pi. I would like to run the motor forwards and reverse at variable speeds maybe selected by the switches on the piface. All the ...

The encoder is single Chanel 8 segments and interrupts an opto/transistor pair as in the sketch attached, Any help to get this information into my gertboa...

No Richard, this is a DC motor. I'm using a 12-16VDC external supply hooked up to Mot+ and Ground on the GErtboard. If I substitude hat for an LED it will go pfffttt I fear. The hookup on the Gertboard is exactly like the R2 manual says . Running potmot-wp.py I get the following message. I have foll...

Seems something is not quite right. I have double and treble checked my wiring and all seems ok I'm using a 1K pot When I run the programme potmot test I'm asked to hit enter when ready, but I get no motor run at all. I do notice that all leds are lit when I connect the jumper between GP8 and CSnA. ...
