Re: RPi Bluetooth PAN

Ok, so I'm posting this here just to continue the thread. Not sure what I did wrong, but I've uninstalled everything a few times and am trying to figure this out in case someone has the same problem. Not good when I'm the only one...I sorta suck...anyways. I added the following code to the script wh...

Re: RPi Bluetooth PAN

Hmm
Yes. I uninstalled all bluez and Bluetooth packages.
The error I'm getting is from Bluez NetworkService call in the script. That library was uninstalled when I uninstalled (the script couldn't find the lib).
Is there a way to inspect an object, I'm more of a java guy? Thanks much.

Re: RPi Bluetooth PAN

..and it doesn't work still..should have checked better... I still get the error after removing and installing the bluetooth package. I added a print of the server object to see that I'm getting something. I don't know if it's right or not... <Interface <ProxyObject wrapping <dbus._dbus.SystemBus (s...

Re: Bluetooth Access Point

I'm about to start this myself after having just started with the bluetooth and Pi. Question though, would bonjour still work a-la my hostapd config? If Pi is my Access point and I set it up as per the tutorial, would I still be able to get to it via pi.local? Do I need a local DHCP and iptables con...

Re: RPi Bluetooth PAN

That's the version I have. but to answer my question, If I simply run:

Code: Select all

sudo pand --listen --role NAP -u /etc/bluetooth/pan/dev-up
as outlined serveral places, it works.

Thanks for this great idea.

Re: RPi Bluetooth PAN

This is a wonderful idea, but after trying it, I get the following error on bluez-test-nap. Any ideas? traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/bluez-test-nap", line 39, in <module> server.Register(service, bridge) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dbus/proxies.py", line 70, in __call_...

Re: [Tutorial] Using the RasPi as a WiFi hostspot (8 Nov 12)

Thanks.
Yes, I assume this isn't a pi problem now that I think about it.
Do I run DNS in addition to my dhcp server, and set the DNS server as localhost? Is there an easy DNS server to use?
Bonjour is working but it seems that the better way would be to use DNS.

Thanks again!

Re: [Tutorial] Using the RasPi as a WiFi hostspot (8 Nov 12)

I have set up the pi as a hot spot and have had no problem getting to the outside internet. What I want to do is access a server running on the pi itself, but can only access it by ip address. Besides DHCPd, I don't have a DNS server running...do I need to do that? Is there another way to JUST name ...
