Re: Setup without Windows 10 PC

Yes for this initial release you need a version of DISM that only works with Windows 10 Insider Preview, but we will be making the installation more flexible soon! Pranish Kumar (pranishk@microsoft.com) Microsoft Corporation ... I left Windows over a decade ago for reasons similar to this, restrict...

Re: Heat Sinks, Do YOU need them.

I'm over clocked and over volted but without heak sinks AND fan, temps were close to 80c constantly (in a closed Cyntech case!) Now with sink + fan runs around 50c. One important point many miss is that heat sinks in closed top cases without fan is pointless, because hot air is trapped. Also if you ...

Re: USB FIQ testing....

Hi, fiq_split_enable=0 gives me a much worse distortion fiq_fix_enable=0 gives me an unbootable system (didn't investigate) speed=1 slowes down my Wi-Fi dongle and forces the sound card to enter a stereo-only mode, which is not what I meant to use it for. But it plays fine. Please advise if I have ...

Can somebody confirm if the answer provided by @pepedog (in this other post here http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=57805#p436434) also solves the issue described earlier in this thread? I've been experiencing this issue with several dongles, including the Edimax and D-Link. No ...

None. I've read enough recent deadend threads to realize it makes no sense posting spcifics just to go in circles. Plus I'm posting via mobile today, I will blog post a video of the issue in action once I get back.

Cheers!

Re: USB/serial converters (not very) broken on Pi

Yes latest firmware. Properly powered. all depends on what your using the Pi for, USB still flawed. Using a 2.1 amp, 2.0 amp and 1.5 amp and 3 USB wifi dongles. (3 RPi board, I thought I had bad hardware, trchincall I do... All three) Glad it works for your needs it works fine for some of mine as we...

Re: High latency with Edimax 7811Un

Great news Bjoern. I should have said that the change has improved the latency issues. But the problem is still there. :/ As per this thread: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=62549&p=494327#p494327 ... 1/2 the time its IRQ related or pings and packet loss escalate with IRQs. @rpifreeze You are correct. Same issues here. Once I start any serious download or upload IRQs spike big time and ping latency increases to over 1 - 5 seconds sometimes even long enough to lose ssh connection... There's lots of free RAM as seen in attachment (had to compress image so much to fit the...
