Re: Kweb Suite (Minimal Kiosk Browser, omxplayerGUI)

I don't believe in any memory leak - and if there's one I cannot fix it because it's in the webkit engine. All browsing engines use lots of memory, depending on the web content and on the sites visited (caches building up). In kweb you can use different memory models, using less or no cache at all ...

Re: Kweb Suite (Minimal Kiosk Browser, omxplayerGUI)

Dear gkreidl, In my application, I use kweb-1.7.9, and after some days, the raspberry becomes slower and slower. I checked with 'top' command, the CPU was fine, but the memory was full and the raspberry was working on swap. It seems the problem comes from kweb, he used 87.3% of the memory. Maybe th...

Hi!

How can I use Kweb with xinit kiosk mode with special resolution: 1440 x 900 ?

David
kweb will adapt to any screen size but this requires a window manager (openbox, for example).

I installed and tested the Ubuntu-14.04 armhf version today on Jessie. Dependencies are OK, but Firefox crashes.
The 16.04 version might work on Stretch, but I have not tested it yet.

"Full screen" usually means without any window elements. If you still want to keep the window bar, you can use
self.root.attributes('-zoomed', True)

(or "False" to get back to window mode)

I'll check the packages on my (experimental) Stretch system. They may have been ...

I have written a lot about omxplayergui lately and you could find details if you use the "Search" facility and look for my name. omxplayergui is part of the Minimal Kiosk Browser which does need to be stored on your SD card but it works independently of it. It can be found in and loaded from the So...

I'm using an HDMI 5.1 analog (plus digital) audio extractor.

There are simpler (and cheaper) models which provide only analog stereo outputs.

Add '--no-osd' to your Popen call to hide the On-Screen-Display message.
Jehutting is right; I misunderstood your question (I thought you wanted to get rid of terminal messages).

Not possible. omxplayer completely depends on hardware codecs.
