Probably swapping, because the web page is using too much memory.

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ lockups

"Certain circumstances" is the key. We need to find out what they are. This is the main reason it takes so long to find this stuff - narrowing down the specific circumstances that cause the issue. The 3B+ uses a different ethernet chip which has a different driver (smsc95xx vs lan78xx), so really v...

Re: Tutorial: Compile VLC with HW acceleration - Stretch, RPi 2/3

first and foremost, thank you for the tutorial, is quite useful for those who want to compile VLC. But i have a question. Why do you disable OpenGL??? It works just fine with opengl, in fact using Output OpenGL GLX, it behaves like it does in any x86/x64 system.. Instead of ./configure --prefix=/us...

@Tichun & n67: I don't like your belligerent tone. Did you ever provide something useful to the community yourself? The RPi has been built for education and learning. What's so bad about providing a tutorial about building a package? Following it you create a VLC version, which 1) is newer than the ...

Well, it could be that a quite recent (in relative terms) BBS overhaul has changed this edit blocking behavior, that would explain it.
I've started my kweb suite thread more than 5 years ago and the top post has been edited 64 times so far.

Re: Real Time Transcoding of DVB TV Streams

Hi, Awesome work thank you. We are researching to do trans-coding for MPEG 2, MPEG 4, H264 streams, we find your work really remarkable but we have some questions. 1. Does it support all formats that I mentioned we receive them as multicast-ed UDP streams? 2. In your experience, no strings attached...

I've done it dozens of times on Wheezy, Jessie and Stretch. If you follow the tutorial exactly, it should work.

And no, I don't recommend starting with Stretch light. The full VLC package depends on a lot of GUI stuff.

Also tried updating with rpi-update to latest kernel (4.14.43) and firmware (25 May 2018). This with omxplayer version from 30 Mar 2017,...

There is no "f" on title bar, i think I never saw it. Tested on an old Stretch image updated and now on the latest Stretch image, it still doesn't work. Try setting

And there is no "mouse acceleration bug". Some wireless Mouse/keyboard combos don't work well with the default settings, but this can easily be solved with a command line switch.

What about a regular flash video not though YouTube? Also, omx player doesn't truly do full screen. You still get the bars at the top and there isn't a full screen option. Flash or not is not important, it depends on the support of the website by youtube-dl (many hundreds of websites are supported)...

Re: stretch still slower than jessie? what?

Firefox never used HW acceleration for video on the RPi. This is not a problem of Stretch. On Jessie, youtube is also unusable with Firefox. Use Chromium. Webkit based browsers (no HW acceleration) also work, as long as you stay with 360p.
omxplayer and kodi are not "slower" on Stretch.
