Re: TUTORIAL: Play or Encode High-Quality Video and Audio – with FFmpeg and mpv

The "warning" was for the users, not for you. You may break your system, if you like, but you should not add this advice it to a general tutorial. Dougie has said everything what has to be said about it above. Regarding dependencies: the number is not so important, but adding newer versions (not fro...

Re: TUTORIAL: Play or Encode High-Quality Video and Audio – with FFmpeg and mpv

Nice tutorial, but why do you think you have to use a big font everywhere? WARNING: Do not advice people to run sudo rpi-update This will install experimental kernel and firmware and might break your system! You are installing newer versions of a number of libraries, which may be used by other softw...

Re: Vivaldi web browser update error

This is not new and I'm not sure if it will be fixed. Meanwhile:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/vivaldi.list

Comment out the last line like this:
#deb http://repo.vivaldi.com/stable/deb/ stable main

and save the file.

Re: RPI 3 board -- Web Browser Video Playback & Hardware Accelerations

What about the Raspbian jessie OS? In this, whether chromium browser supports HW acceleration? -Thanks. It's the same in Jessie, but there are also epiphany and kweb3 which support HW decoding of web video (more formats, but the engine is not really stable). kweb (all versions, both on Stretch and ...

Though you have given all infos, it will be helpful if you give output of the command...

Code: Select all

omxplayer -i video_name.mov

I would recommend pytube instead of youtube-dl. It can download all videos that youtube-dl can. And also it is easy to use. You can install it from git source, or you can install using pip. sudo pip install pytube That's simply not true. Youtube-DL supports more than 1000 video websites and offers ...

Getting the right USB receiver (DVB-S or DVB-T) is the most crucial thing, because many are not supported by Linux and some require compiling a driver. Try to get one which is supported by the kernel:

I don't believe in any memory leak - and if there's one I cannot fix it because it's in the webkit engine. All browsing engines use lots of memory, depending on the web content and on the sites visited (caches building up). In kweb you can use different memory models, using less or no cache at all ...
