Re: A Final Fidonacci Challenge

I have not followed all of the past discussion on this problem, so apologies if this idea has been proposed before. Without mentioning names, I recently became aware of a solution in BBC BASIC V on RISC OS. It does not give a fully correct result do to a slight bug in the carry handling. But what r...

has anyone had any luck running rtranscode on the pi zero? I'd like to run tvheadend and transcode into a h.264 TS stream with it.
I never tried it. It might work for SD streams.

Re: I can´t boot from usb in pi 4

All my RPis run from HDD. But for all I have been using the "old method": Boot partition on SD, root FS on HDD.

There's a great tutorial here on the forum (for years) and everbody should be able to follow it.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

What we have learnt so far: The RPi 4 needs a good airflow for cooling. Closed plastic boxes are a no go, if you don't want to lose a lot of performance (throttling). Heat sinks help a bit, but not much, and also need a good airflow. Using the naked board without a case and mounting it vertically se...

@gkreidl,
Is the Kweb Suite compatible with the new Raspbian Buster?
I can't tell you, yet. It will take a week or two until I can move one of my systems to Buster and start testing. And it will take a few more weeks, until I can test it on Buster using a RPi 4.

dpkg is a package manager for building / extracting files & configuration etc. it does not download any dependancies.

You have to track those down manually :o
Better solution: install and use gdebi

I have my pi connected via wire to the router, I have a 3.5 powered USB 3 HDD connected to the USB 3, when I transfer something from my PC to the HDD on the pi I just get 11mb/s speed.
Looks like a 100 MBit connection.

Re: I Need More Meat From My Pi

petecal, I suppose you are using some kind of USB DVB-T dongle for your SDR. I use a USB DVB-S2 box on one of my RPis (it's a B 3). Using mumudvb I can stream all channels from a satellite transponder at the same time. The bandwidth may reach up to 80 MBit/sec. This means, that the Linux DVB-API and...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

The problem with all those closed plastic boxes, official or not, isn't really new. Starting with the RPi 3B additional cooling was always needed if you didn't want to lose processing power by throttling. My 3B uses a small heat sink and is in case with open sides, mounted sideways for better airflo...

I'll just be swapping my Pi3 out of this one (until my Flirc arrives). Nice thing about those 2 layer acrylic cases is they're pretty universal, and they don't trap in heat. I use a similar case for my 3B. It is mounted sideways for better air circulation and there's small heat sink on the SOC. My ...
