Re: How to set specific values for tvservice

The Pi4 defaults to running an updated display stack based on the kernel DRM/KMS API. That is why tvservice reports CUSTOM as it is provided with the full timings by the kernel, and just implements them. It is this API that allows the Screen Configuration app to switch modes as it does. The Pi0 is r...

Re: CM4 BQ25890 dtoverlay help

status = "okay" needs to be on the i2c0if and i2c0mux nodes, not i2c_csi_dsi or i2c0. The fact that i2cdetect shows the address and not UU means the kernel driver hasn't been loaded to claim that device. grep bq25890 /lib/modules/`uname -r`/* will tell you if the compatible string is foun...

PLEASE read the help text.

"man cec-ctl", or "cec-ctl -h"

Code: Select all

Re: Plug in monitor HDMI cable after boot up

With Pi400 and Pi4 I am actually experiencing opposite problem so I am plugging hdmi cable after boot up and it works. For me when monitor is attached at cold boot it stays off. Unplugging and plugging back turns monitor on at 640x480 and then I can use display settings to switch to native 1280x102...

cec-client is part of libcec , which is a library on top of a number of CEC implementations. When you find things in the libcec code like https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/blob/master/include/cectypes.h#L287 #define CEC_LINUX_PATH "/dev/cec0" and then https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/li...

Re: Is manual mode possible?

I thought that setting the ISO to a fixed value ( so != 0, only allowed values (100, 160, ..), also fixed the gains? It does on stills captures, but during preview or video modes it still allows a little wiggle room to try and allow for flicker avoidance to set the exposure appropriately. It's also...

Re: Enable HDMI CEC on 2 ports

Edit /boot/config.txt (you'll need sudo). Find the line dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d and amend it to dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d Reboot. /dev/cec0 and /dev/cec1 should now exist. You don't say what you want to do with the two CEC instances. cec-ctl is the standard tool for CEC interactions, or there's cec-compl...

Re: Bit depth of JPEG and PNG Images From PiCam v2.1?

Whilst JPEG can support greater bit depths, the JPEG hardware block on the Pi only supports 8bit/component (YUV only). Whilst the PNG spec can support 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16 bits per component, the Pi encoder only handle 8bpc (24bpp). Note that PNG is an RGB format, so there is a format conversion involv...

Re: Synch gpio with exact gpu clock

Should you get a timestamp from the VPU (eg MMAL_PARAMETER_SYSTEM_TIME, or a timestamp from the MMAL camera component), then that is read from the STC (System Time Clock). The Linux kernel driver also reads from the same clock (I forget where exactly), but that should mean that clock_gettime(CLOCK_M...

Re: Enable HDMI CEC on 2 ports

CEC will only be available on both HDMI ports when using the vc4-kms-v3d overlay, not the vc4-fkms-v3d overlay. Functionality on that is largely complete, but it is not the default yet. You will also need to use the kernel CEC API rather than the libcec. libcec's use of the Pi firmware IPC only supp...

Hello, please allow me to ask another question regarding unpacking the 12-bits raw pixels. There are total of 18580480 bytes in the raw file. I understand that there are for 6112*3040 (columns*rows) bytes according to Jack's matlab code. However, every two pixels (12-bits) take three bytes, so 4056...

Re: i2c-10 seems not work and cannot access PCF85063AT and EMC2301 on CM4 IO Board with latest firmware and bootloader

Can you provide the full pinmuxing via raspi-gpio get? Slow response generally means that something has left GPIOs 0&1 also muxed to SDA0/SCL0. Double muxing for I2C results in SCL0 being always reported as low, which clock stretches and takes 1 sec per transaction to time out. Do you have a dt-...

Re: HQ Cam on ubuntu 20.04

Adding dtoverlay=imx477 loads the raw sensor driver which will only deliver raw Bayer images, and has no automatic exposure, gain, or white balance control. You should be able to use libcamera with it. Why Ubuntu doesn't see the camera module is slightly odd. Does "modinfo bcm2835_v4l2" te...

Depends which generation of Fire TV Stick, but quite possibly, and moreso playing through Plex rather than Amazon's optimised paths. 1st Gen Fire TV Stick's are actually based on Broadcom's BCM28155, which is VideoCore4 with dual A9's. 1080p24 decode should be fine (odd that your streams are saying ...
