Re: Any word from Farnell?

I ordered mine from Farnell on March 3rd, got a couple of emails a while ago, the last one predicted delivery in the week starting 28th May.
On Wednesday I noticed the order status had changed, and got a dispatch e-mail Wendesday afternoon. The Pi was waiting for me when I got home from work on Friday

Re: Invitation to order from RS

OTOH Farnell I ordered 3 March 11:50 and last I heard the y suggested I should get excited w/c 28 May. So while I thought RS handled 29th bunfight much better (by only taking 1 screen expressions of interest), if the deliveries do work the way I am anticipating Farnell have done a much better job o...

Re: Invitation to order from RS

Interesting that the RS thread has people who were expressing interest at 8:00am on the first day, just now getting confirmation that delivery is imminent, while on the similar Farnell thread it is the people who ordered on 3rd March who are getting similar emails. My suspicion is that it was quick...

Re: Farnell or RS - who will ship first, more problem free?

Logically, all things being equal, the one you ordered with first should get a Pi to you first, as you will be further up the queue. I think the two companies have a different approach. RS appear to be only taking orders when they have units to ship, whereas Farnell took my order back in March, and...

Re: Invitation to order from RS

So, I thought I posted this earlier and it might have just got lost in the move......... or I'm just going crazy and I never did it. I've noticed that RS Components UK Charger is out of stock till June. This will probably mean orders that have that included probably won't get delivered till it is b...

Re: Invitation to order from RS

I got an 'invitation to order' email today. I did and the order number is 65xx. Claiming to deliver within 7 days. I'm in the UK. I also got my invitation from RS today (it was 61xx). Oddly the confirmation e-mail quites two different dates. At the top of the e-mail it quotes 7 days, but further do...

Re: Invitation to order from RS

I'm in the US, specifically NC. We don't generally get charged tax unless the store you're buying from is also in the same state. From what I can tell, RS doesn't have any stores outside the UK. Who does the tax go to? As far as shipping, most of what I buy is Amazon Prime (free two day shipping). ...
