Hello. This is my first time using my new raspberry pi zero w. I plugged its power in to the back of my computer usb port and nothing happens
If that is the sum total of all you did then nothing other than a brief flash or two of the Zero's LED should have happened.

Re: Forgotten keyboard setup after reboot

For info - this won't solve your problem but may aid your understanding - when using remote access such as VNC, RDP, ssh etc the keyboard layout is controlled by the computer you are remoting from.

When troubleshhooting such things a useful step is to check the two sides independently. Disconnect from each other and link each of the two Tx lines to its own Rx line.

Re: lost the email for my licenses how can I go about getting my licenses again?

When you do get the Licence keys back, apply them to your Pi as soon as possible. Then it doesn't matter if you lose them again - they will be permanently set on that Pi. How does that work? Do the license keys survive an SD card reformat? It's written to the OTP bits. Has been happening for quite ...

Tried it on a pi 3b, fresh pi operating system, was not detected. No official raspberry keyboard listed there either. Should be one.

Need a means of testing the keyboard, perhaps it's toast.
Should also work if plugged in to a PC or Mac. Have you tried another cable?

Re: Dumb networking question...

The PowerLIne with Wi-Fi unit should be acting only as a Wi-FI Access Point, not as anything else such as a DHCP server and/or router. The other PowerLine unit (ethernet only) should be wired to your 192.168.0.1 router. That the management interface for the PowerLine Wi-Fi is on 192.168.1.1 is then ...

Re: Powering Pi 4 from 12v battery

A RPI4B does NOT need at least 3A. 3A is the recommended supply that leaves 1.2 A for any USB peripherals and other loads supplied via the GPIO header.

Assuming the buck converter you link to meets its specs then it is suitable.

Re: Using a Pi4 power supply with a Pi2

The Pi4 PSU is more than capable. Any limit will be imposed by the RPi2B. What OS and version are you running on it? IIRC at one time the default was that only 0.6 Amp was available to the USB ports in total but later that was changed to 1.2 Amp.

A picture does not have an ISO number. Originally it was a measure of film sensitivity but later the concept was adopted for digital sensors/camera. Reading anything semi reliable on the internet should have made that clear.

Re: 4g RPI Phone

No RPi has audio input, RF transmitter and receiver operating in mobile/cell phone bands, SIM interface etc

By the time you add all those you will have a big clunky device with short battery life that has cost you more than a ready to use budget Android phone.

Is that 6v a typo or do you really mean it?

Re: DNS issue on Raspberry pis

Your RPi is on a 10.x.x.x address and you say that is by DHCP.

If the RPI is using DNS servers at 208.67.x.x then either:

1. It is being given that by the DHCP server

or

2. The RPi has been manually configured to do that.

You are the network administrator so you should know which.

Re: How would you add more ADCs to the Raspberry Pi Pico?

Hey folks, So the Raspberry Pi Pico has three ADCs. That's 3 more than my other Raspberry Pi boards, so pretty cool. What if you wanted to read 10 or 14 pots though? Obviously that requires more hardware, but what? PIC microcontrollers seem to offer lots of ADCs for the $$$, but there's the whole h...

Re: Can the RPi consumes more than 3 A?

1. Fuses confer a degree of protection to the power source. They offer little if any protection to what is consuming the power. 2. A fuse is a very imprecise device. For example a 3 Amp fuse is not something which will happily pass 2.99 Amp but quickly blow at 3.01 Amp. The current marked on the fus...

Oh, silly me, I'm in the US. I don't have issue with shipping internationally, but it may be easier for some to just source parts locally. You may or may not have issues with shipping out of the US (the US does have export restrictions on some technologies to some countries) but the recipient's cou...
