Re: RPi4B loses Wi-Fi when DVI screen connected

Are the monitor and the TV running at exactly the same resolution and frame rate? If not, read my earlier reply again. Definitely both are 1280x1024 and I assume both are 60fps (how do I confirm this ?). The Pi3 and Pi4 are side by side near the TV and only the one that is connected to the TV is af...

Re: RPi4B loses Wi-Fi when DVI screen connected

For certain resolutions the clock frequency of HDMI signals is in the same band as WI-Fi. Have you tried changing the Wi-Fi channel on your router or using 5 GHz rather than 2.4 GHz?

Get a cheap benchtop power supply with current measurement and solder up a decent lead from a good USB cable. I use one of these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322110409581?epid=1507593134&hash=item4aff46cb6d:g:j3AAAOSwrklVLmzG One of those less than US$10 in-line USB current and voltage testers c...

No model of RPi is able to measure its own power consumption. You need externsl hardware to do that.

Re: Power frustration - low voltage despite good hardware

No official RPT PSU has an output socket for a separate cable, only a plug on the end of a fixed cable. Ergo, any PSU with a socket is not an official PSU.

Re: VGA-HDMI monitor issue

You seem confused. Monitors always have inputs. Rarely do they also have outputs. To use a VGA monitor with a RPi you need an active HDMI to VGA converter. A VGA to HDMI converter will not work. Neither will cables that only work with equipment in which the HDMI socket can be made to output VGA sign...

Don't use two 5v supplies in parallel, at least not if they're of a switching kind.
I wasn't clear enough.
I will run the cables from same supply.
There will be only one power supply.
Yes you can do that.

Re: rpi zero with 18650 Battery hat and OTG functionnality

I read that 18650 can be charged and discharged simultaneously, so this should not be an issue. Either what you read was incorrect or you have misunderstood it or you have worded your sentence inappropriately. An 18650 (or any chargeable device) can be in one of three states. 1. No current is flowi...

Re: is the arduino support for RPI2040 better then CMAKE ????

Which one is better depends on the criteria used to assess them. Those criteria will not be constant, but depend on the relative importance of the various factors to whoever is choosing.

The Arduino method may be "Arduino official" but it is certainly not "RaspberryPi official".

Any PSU with a switch in the output cable is a potential cause of the described symptoms. When the RPi is working OK do you ever see the undervoltage warning (yellow lightning symbol) at top right of screen?

Re: Pi baker's help wanted : 2 videos to sync

A RPi is far from being the ideal way to tackle your wish. No input for any conventional standard video, no VGA output. Go find out how frame synchronisers work.

Might be more fruitful to investigate how to sync the generation of the two videos.

As I understand it, the overvoltage protection diode only protects power that comes in via USB, not via the pins, but I don't really know what I'm talking about.
Your understanding of the overvoltage protection diode in a 4B is wrong. Your assessment of your knowledge is spot on.

Yes, connecting apparatus which has not been certified/approved to a PSTN/POTS line is illegal in many countries. Hi,
Is this possibly, a crossover vs straight thru cable problem.
No it is not.

The ethernet port on all RPis is autosensing. You never need a crossover cable with a RPi. But it will never be the cause of a problem if you do use one.

The wpa_supplement.conf file reads.
country=US
ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1

network={
ssid=myssid
psk=mywifikey
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
}
If the above is accurate there is at least one problem to fix.
