Re: FM pin on Pi 3
Even if the frequency you target is "unused" in your area, the signal generated by abusing the Pi is so awful that it will clobber a lot of other frequencies, and potentially quite broad bands each time, not just a single channel (the channel width for a broadcast signal is wider than for...

Re: FM pin on Pi 3
I meant one of the regular radio frequencies from 87.5 to 108.0 MHz - one where there is no station broadcasting on it (for a particular area).rurwin wrote:There are no unused FM bands; the spectrum is packed tight.Hitechcomputergeek wrote:(rather than just some unused FM band)

Re: FM pin on Pi 3
I saw a spectrum analyser plot of the Pi transmitting on 30MHz and there were equal-sized outputs every 10MHz up to the limit of the measuring equipment at 120MHz. That includes air-traffic frequencies. They probably continued on up and hit the emergency services above 146MHz. How come I'm just now...

Re: FM pin on Pi 3
:( Thanks for the warning, though. I didn't realize that the signal was messy enough to be illegal. Kind of a shame, but I guess you could buy one of those cheap low-powered car FM transmitters ( like this ) - I've seen them as low as $5 here in the US - and hook it to the audio out jack for legal P...

Re: FM pin on Pi 3
Screw the BCM43438 - just stick an antenna on a GPIO :P (edit) DO NOT DO THIS. (/edit) FM transmitting has been done before by using a GPIO on the Pi.[Mod link removed] I'll quote from that wiki page: Below is some code that was hacked together over a few hours at the Code Club pihack. It uses the h...

Just curious, what would happen if both an under-voltage warning and a temperature warning were to be generated at the same time? What would be displayed on the screen?

What are you using the Bluetooth connection for? Data? Audio? SSH tunneling?
It would help if we had more details about what you are actually trying to do.

Re: Can we control the on-board leds
I'm not sure, but I it looks like this thread (or rather its intrepid participants) may be able to solve a riddle I have concerning the onboard LEDs. See my questions here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46517&p=366483#p366483 I was hoping to "recreate" an ...

Re: A NOOBS Resizing FAT Partition Error "Seriously!?" momen
Hey, Just to let you know, I got this same error error after extracting the files from the zip directly to the SD card on Ubuntu 14.10. I opened the zip in Archive Manager and then hit the "Extract" button, and picked the SD card to extract the files to. It worked perfectly when I dragged ...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD
If you want to install the LCDs on a clean version of Raspbian or Rasbmc (no image needed), I have written up a step by step guide with a beginner in mind on how to do it. It took several days of research to find out exactly how to install the drivers and get the touchscreen configured and calibrat...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD
For the 2.4" you more than likely want to use: https://github.com/yaolet/mztx06a As there were a lot of fixes which helps to clean up the CPU consumption. The Github version doesn't work for the 2.4 inch touchscreen. The GPIO pin numbers apparently changed for some reason, and it didn't work f...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD
Well, I'm not that familiar with make, but I already tried deleting the binaries before re-compiling, just in case it worked, which it didn't. To clarify, when I run it, it does run, saying "Raspberry Pi LCD Testing..." and everything else, just nothing happens on the touchscreen board. An...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD
I went to the Amazon link, and it looks like the seller used the same page, but actually has a different display board (2.8" instead of 2.4", and doesn't have all the extra I/O and power connector, according to the photo). Do you have the MZ280H-PI-EXT, or do you have the original MZTX-PI...

Re: Tontec 2.4-inch TFT LCD
I got my new Pi. Then, I tried to update to the latest version of mztx06a using 'git clone https://github.com/yaolet/mztx06a'. I compiled it using 'make', replaced the old mztx06a executable with the newly-made one, and rebooted. It didn't work. When I connected it to my television, though, I could...
