Re: Arch linux and official display

hello guys, earlier today I managed to get on irc at #raspberrypi, where I was told that if I use 32 bit arch on rpi3 I should be fine. That kernel should have all drivers and such stuff. (noob terminology here) so procount, your post warms my hart confirming that it works on almost 50 distros, but ...

My flavour of choice is usually arch, but searching the web I could find instructions only for raspbian. So my question is, can I combine rpi official display with arch os ? (If...

Re: Not streaming to outside world

hello there dezaF, thank you for your time and input. but, if I open port X for my camera 1, than accessing it i would go 123.456.789.012:portX and for camera 2 port Y accordingly 123.456.789.012:portY, wouldn't that require two separate windows in browser? I set 2 iframes to harness both cameras on...

Hello again Dougie, once again to the rescue, thank you.

That is great news, and now to juicy part,
where can i find wiring examples, circuits,
or is it simple as just connecting it in parallel to rpi's pins?

thank you

hello blaablaaguy, Do I need X for this? I forgot to mention, I do all in CLI style, via ssh, so no display available. And GPIO 26 ? that is the very last one? Not one of the regular outputs? Re: Pi 2/Pi camera module auto run at power on

Hey Ronny, 1/ As long you have the same hardware (so, rpi of same model and camera board) you can swap sd cards as you like. There are 6 models (and it seems growing) of rpi, a, a+, b, b+, 2b+ and latest zero. As long as you have same model, (in your case 2b+) you can swap sd cards as you like. So l...

Re: Pi 2/Pi camera module auto run at power on

Oi Ronny, sorry for delayed response and sorry for my laughter. As I said, I presumed from the beginning that you have internet access to your RPI. That is how RPI is set to start using, tho, one can surely do without. RPI is made for kids, and here am I , in my middle 40's, happy as a kid can be......

oi, well, i did not mean to watch preview over internet, but to control RPI, while display monitor is connected overt 75ft hdmi cable. Otherwise pre-made button. Well since there is small chance that ctrl+alt+F2 won't work (I'm not so familiar, but it might be that preview is 'over' the display), le...

Oi Ronny, kheh, well, there are a lot of thing I have to assume, try ctrl+alt+F2. If it works, terminal opens, great, if not... If terminal opens do ctrl+alt+F7 (or F1) to get camera preview back But let's start at the beginning: Is your RPI connected to internet, cable, wifi? This was my presumptio...

Re: Pi 2/Pi camera module auto run at power on

oi, Here is what we did: As RPI boots up, at the end of boot it runs the /etc/rc.local script. In that script we told RPI to start our script. In turn, our script starts camera board. So, in order to stop the camera, we have to stop the script. You can log into RPI (you can get to terminal) any time...

oi oi, 1/ no, you do not need that line 2/ you must shut down raspberry pi properly in order not to destroy your SD card, that is all. If you keep it running all the time, I guess it is not that hard to shut it down in manner that you log into RPI and shut it down. See, great as RPI is, it does not ...

Re: Pi 2/Pi camera module auto run at power on

Hey Ronny, sure thing, As you open terminal there is nothing but to type, so first type: sudo nano /etc/rc.local This will open already existing file. At the end of a file there is a line with just one word: exit. ABOVE that line put the name of your script (that we are yet to write) like so: my_sta...
