Re: PILFS : Error during gcc compilation

Update

GMP is building ok on an old Raspi (512K)

This might be a configure issue.

I tried to get gmp-6.1.0 on the Raspi3 , and build it.
just a ./configure && make

But my Raspi3 stopped responding (crashed) during build , and it's 140km away :(

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Hi Guzunty / Derek I have Guzunty core gz_16o8i up and running on a 7$ Altera EPM240 board , *bay: 161340655250 I chose the Altera mostly for the price , but also for being able to run 1.8v as my Odroid U3 runs. http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=11888 I have just followed a little VHDL co...

Re: How to upgrade to the latest Raspbian.org kernel ?

Normally for raspbian wheezy I only put a new major version of the kernel in when the foundation make it their reccomended kernel version. I was not aware that they had done that for 3.12 There is a 3.13 kernel in raspbian jessie but it may (or may not) have dependency issues if you try to install ...

Re: How to upgrade to the latest Raspbian.org kernel ?

Well Seems like i have gotten my ansver , allthough somewhat clouded. 1: The raspbian.org kernel is aparrently always behind the foundation kernel. That is ok by me , i need a stable kernel that behaves like my other debian/ubuntu's. I mean ... where i can get headers installed via apt-get , like mo...

Re: How to upgrade to the latest Raspbian kernel ?

I just did the rpi-update to get the newest firmware , not the foundation kernel. I want to use the raspbian kernel , as it has decent headerfiles etc. plugwash where are you ? /Bingo Edit: Changed the title to raspbian.org kernel , instead of just raspbian kernel. That might have been the thing lea...

Re: How to upgrade to the latest Raspbian kernel ?

Are you sure ? I was under the impresion that it would get me the newest foundation kernel , not the newest Raspbian kernel. And my steps above seems to indicate the same. I can't use the foundation kernel , as you can't do a: sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r) That's why i switched to t...

How to upgrade to the latest Raspbian.org kernel ?

Gents (Plugwash) I have been using the Raspbian kernel for a while , as i need the linux-headers for building modules. See: http://www.eevblog.com/forum/reviews/using-a-raspberry-pi-with-linux-gpib-and-a-beiming-or-agilent-usb-gpib-adapter/ But i miss a "sticky" how to upgrade to the latest Raspbian...

Re: rtl8192cu module for Edimax EW-7811n WiFi dongle

I just tried a LogiLink mini USB adapter , and it's working ok. I'm using the raspbian.org kernel , not the foundation kernel. See my (Kernel) install notes here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=456702#p456702 kernel [email protected]:~# uname -a Linux raspberrypi-3 3.6-trunk-rpi ...

Re: Raspbian Kernel Source

You've got to understand that no one who works for raspberry pi is a debian packaging expert (and the fact that there are very few people who work for raspberry pi). @dom Your answer makes sense. Especially about doing the things you are best at , and not everyone has access to the Broadcomm NDA do...

Unfortunately, with a small number of volunteers and staff, the Foundation are unable to fix every problem instantly. But hey, thanks for the implied insult. Re: Raspbian Kernel Source

BTW there is a properly packaged kernel in the raspbian repositories though it sometimes lags a bit behind the foundation's packages. The package is called linux-image-rpi-rpfv @plugwash I had to register in order to thank you for providing a full debian (compliant) kernel with headers. I have spen...
