Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Sorry, not yet. It's a work in progress. I have seen that you added a new feature in pikrellcam: #ifdef MOTION_STILLS { "\n# -------------------- Motion Still Recording -----------------------\n" But I cannot find this code in the conf-file (even after upgrading). How can I activate this feature?

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I haven't done anything about starting a wiki since I have tried to cover most things on the help page. If somebody sees a need for more than that, then they could start a wiki if they want. I just did that and I used the github account (they have a template for a wiki). I simply copied and pasted ...

However, in the case of taking stills, I have started
adding the feature for stills to be taken instead of videos.
Is there a documentation for this feature?

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

That is great. If I understand it correctly one can use PiKrellCam to tell that a motion occurred and trigger a still picture without triggering video. This was a feature that was requested a while ago. Did I get this right? And is there a wiki or something else where we can put some more informatio...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

There's always a motion video so you can't just take stills with no video. I might look at adding that possibility. That would be great, bill! I use pikrellcam mainly for identifying who is entering an area and there videos take up lots of space but pictures have a much higher resolution (and still...

Re: [SOLVED] wlan1 (5GHz) does not come up

As you are running the latest kernel version, especially if you are using kernel Stretch, I'm wondering why you have edited file /etc/network/interfaces . Don't I have to declare the usual "auto lo // iface lo inet loopback..." under stretch? I just used my old interfaces-file from the former versi...

Re: [SOLVED] wlan1 (5GHz) does not come up

MrEngman has on his webpage an sh-file that I ran. This file did everything, installing the driver as well as activating it.

Unfortunately, I just realized that it is only with 2.4GHz, not 5GHz. I am sure that this is not a software issue.

Re: wlan1 (5GHz) does not come up

Thanks for your help. It DID work out of the box but after I upgraded kernel and system it stoped working. lsusb shows it:

Code: Select all

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 2001:3318 D-Link Corp.
FHEM is just a perl package that I installed over it, very straightforward.

(Or maybe simply the dongle is not working?)

[SOLVED] wlan1 (5GHz) does not come up

I am using RPi3 with Linux FHEM 4.14.34-v7+ #1110 SMP Mon Apr 16 15:18:51 BST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux. I want to connect my RPi with a 2.4 as well as the 5GHz band. I am using the internal Wifi to connect to 2.4 GHz and this works fine. For the 5GHz I am using a USB-Adapt DWA-172. Because I was not su...

Re: MCP3201 SPI bit bang

I had to average the raw results from the microprocessor to get reliable values. Is this necessary with your approach as well? It does not seems so and this would be a great improvement.

Re: MCP3201 SPI bit bang

I am taking your code. I am still struggling which the best frequency would be. The higher the coarser the data get. 40kHz seems a reasonable choice, if the value is lower it takes too long. I am now running a longer test over night to see which numbers are best.

Re: MCP3201 SPI bit bang

Yes, I know (the voltage is 3.3). The problem is: The above code gives me constantly (around) 3.1 voltage, hence gpiozero should show (around) 0.939. But instead I see values as in the above picture which is inconsistent.

I was wondering whether the chip is broken and using your code I realized that th...

Re: Load average versus CPU temp

True. On one hand the difference in CPU temp is still +- 5°C for a given load average (you see the very broad "line" filled with data). On the other hand if load is very low no ressources at all are used and if load starts climbing the processor picks up some work and hence some heat. This is my exp...

Load average versus CPU temp

I have been using my RPi3 for a perl server called FHEM (just google it) and so I collected about 5500 data in a three minute interval from my Pi. I recorded CPU temp as well as load average and got the following pictures which shows a nice relation between the two. I must remark that this RPi is id...
