Re: [Tutorial] Making time-lapse video with Raspberry Pi

Thanks Dave,

I have had the same "stuck at preroll" problem. Your suggestion solved the problem. Still I wonder why it is so difficult to create a video from images with the maximum resolution of the camera unit. Every result I got yet was awfull in quality.

Can't play converted mp4 from Pi on VLC (Win7)

Hej, I am not sure if it is a common problem but I did not find a lot of similar problems. So I guess it is more an individual problem? I use raspivid to create large videos (>3h). To use the files in Video-Editing-Softwares I need to convert them to mp4. The files without the mp4-container are play...

Re: Q: How to split a h.264 video file on the pi?

Yeah, that would be really great! Actually we wanted to buld a device that makes permanent hd-filming possible for our art project. But the size of files ist kind of a big problem we are struggeling with at the moment. To come back to the topic. Is there any other split command. I'm still searching ...

Re: How to split a h.264 video file on the pi?

Just a quick question - would a feature on the raspivid app that continually produced clips of a specified length (time or size) then moved to the next filename be useful to anyone? Sort of like timelapse for video - so you end up with x number of y length clips giving a total record length of x*y....

Re: How to split a h.264 video file on the pi?

Ok, it is not working. First it says that ffmpeg is outdated and I should use avconv. Then it starts but it shows an error and works just for a while until it stops completly. Thats what it says: [buffer @ 0x1b3e560] Buffering serveral frames is not supported. Please consume all available frames bef...

Q: How to split a h.264 video file on the pi?

Hello, I need to split a h.264 video on the pi to convert it afterwards to mp4, because the videofilesize exceeds half of the capacity of the flashdrive. So I cannot convert it till I cut off something from the h.264 video file. I know there is a command for MP4Box, but it is only working for mp4-fi...

Re: write data on usb drive, file size limit

hey, after reattaching the usb drive to my pc and deleting a few files, converting crossed the 2gb border. though before deleting the files there were like 20gb free on the drive, converting would have needed 8gb. so I can't tell what was the reason why it didn't work and what solved the problem act...

Re: write data on usb drive, file size limit

hey, no, I didn't compile it myself (which is the reason for your "grep CPPFLAGS config.make" command not working, I assume?). avconv comes with the ffmpeg package. when I try to convert with ffmpeg itself then it says that the program is deprecated and that I should use avconv instead. now avconv e...

write data on usb drive, file size limit

hey, the following is the problem: i'm trying to write data on my usb drive, mounted on the pi of course. more precisely i'm using avconv to convert files (h264 to mp4) on the usb drive. when it comes to ca. 2.3 gb the pi kills the process. recording larger files (more than 2.3 gb) with the raspberr...
