I wish to display in kiosk mode a web browser. I basically know how to do that. The problem is if I want to overlay a small rectangular window at the bottom with some message, how would I do that ? <the kiosk mode occupies the full screen, I use chromium browser.> I display the window using the tkin...

I have a rpi3 with jessie. I have chromium-browser installed. Maybe you'd check your clock speed? Did you check softwares running using "top" command? The top command shows my python script running with >100% of CPU. But I have had this pi and been running the same thing for months and never had this issue. (I have not run the top before this so I dont know i...

I have been using pi 3 with jessie and have had no issues. But last couple of days the over-temperature icon keeps popping up (halfway up red ) which i read in another post here as that the arm is limited. over_temperature_80_85.png Is there any remedy for this ? Re: include jpg viewer in a c++ code

You could easily write a simple image viewer using SDL and SDL_image . I found from googling feh that it is an X11 image viewer. Are you going to be using X on your HDMI display? It may be simpler to just display the images on the framebuffer. Either way SDL would be a good way to start. I wrote a ...

Re: Stream IPTV from one RPi to another RPi

If you have followed my tutorial step by step, omxil_vout is used as default video output, so there's no need to set the --vout option (but it doesn't harm either). Run VLC from the desktop, open the message window, open the stream from the menue, let it run for a moment and stop it with the "s" ke...
