Re: Wifi setup; no connection

You need to tweak your router settings so that your DHCP range doesn't use the full 192.168.XXX.2 to 192.168.XXX.254 range. Reserve the bottom 20 addresses for static use assign .21 to .100 for DHCP. Leave .101 to .254 free. Then you won't get any address conflicts. Raspberry has static IP DHCP aad...

Re: Wifi setup; no connection

I usually only use /etc/network/interfaces to configure the wifi. Often it is much easier and simpler. I would usually set /etc/network/interfaces to something like auto lo iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet dhcp allow-hotplug wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-ssid "network name" wpa-psk "network...

Re: Wifi setup; no connection

You have three hubs. Your model B has a USB hub, the LAN9512chip provides 2 USB and the Ethernet; Device 002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Then the other two are because you probably have a 7 port hub; Device 005 Genesis Logic, Device 006 Genysis Logic, 4 port or less report only a single hub! You ...

Re: Motor speedcontrolling with transistor (PWMorTransistor-

Try page 12 of the following: http://www.picaxe.com/docs/picaxe_manual3.pdf ... or page 16 for a ULN-something chip, which contains an array of darlington transistors. In fact that manual has lots of handy circuits like that. The only thing is it's made for PIC controllers which have 5V logic outpu...

Re: Motor speedcontrolling with transistor (PWMorTransistor-

Second way is to control motor speed by PWM, using one PWM PIN. So i can change voltage current on BASE by changing hz frequency. I think the above is what you really want to do. Just use a transistor (darlington?) on/off circuit and PWM it. (You vary the voltage by making the on time longer though...

Re: Motor speedcontrolling with transistor (PWMorTransistor-

I've spent a little time (actually quite a lot - I don't like being defeated) trying to work out what you've got connected where, but it's not clear what transistor you're using, or how you've connected it. Perhaps you could draw a schematic, and post it here? If I'm half-way correct, watching your...

Re: Motor speedcontrolling with transistor (PWMorTransistor-

The first version is not likely to work as you hope. The reason is that transistors are current-operated devices - while it's not saturated (fully on), collector current = base current times the gain of the transistor. But the gain can vary from transistor to transistor, even of the same type, and ...

Motor speedcontrolling with transistor (PWMorTransistor-pot)

Hi! I want to connect DC motor to raspberry PI Gpio. I have used Arduino, done some robots, but never did this on Raspberry Pi. I want to control speed of DC motor and i was wondering whats the best way to do it. I want it for my raspberry fan. For example: if CPU temp < 35C then Motor uses half of ...

Thanks alot for your attention! Well, raspberry cant get IP, maybe it is becouse of power supply. Maybe i can connect raspberry to the laptop USB 2.0 port, how much mA i can get from there? I suppose the power available from the USB ports depends on the particular machine. USB specs talk about a ma...

How did you install the package in the first place? Does that give you any clues about how the service is being started automatically? Re: WIFI always connects and reconnects, cant get IP

In the GUI: Make sure your PSK is typed correctly and then press [Save] On router make sure encryption is set to AES. Note that AES on router = CCMP on the RPi. Or you could try press button configuration (WPS) if your router has that option. Press button on router then on the RPi click [WPS] then ...

I'm not sure what to suggest next. From what you say it appears the wifi is connecting but after a short while disconnects. This could be due to power supply problems if your power supply is not able to supply sufficient current or is not very stable. There are a large number of posts talking about...
