Re: Raspberry Pi B+ turn usb power off

It seems you can control individual devices connected to the USB ports. The hub-ctrl.c github page at https://github.com/codazoda/hub-ctrl.c says: You can also specify the USB device based on the BUS and DEV numbers. Use the following command the list the currently connected devices. It's useful to ...

Re: openvg library on Ubuntu-MATE

Hi, I have another issue now. I'm trying to display a .jpg image on the screen. https://goo.gl/photos/84cioWj8hJv4uYAUA Rightclick->Properties confirms that its a JPEG image. But when I run my program, I get: [email protected]:~/openvg/kbd-touch$ ./kbd-touch Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x89 0x50 royce...

Re: openvg library on Ubuntu-MATE

Yes, Paeryn's suggestion worked, Thanks again. What is the ' chars.c ' file in the openvg/client folder? Is it one of the demos? If we build and try to run it, it seems to have a bug : [email protected]:~/openvg/client$ ./chars Segmentation fault (core dumped) [email protected]:~/openvg/client$ Also It se...

Re: openvg library on Ubuntu-MATE

Yes, that was it. Many Thanks! Probably for the same reason, I also could not build the official demo programs as described here. I kept getting similar errors: https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/demo-programs/worksheet/ I suppose this will be updated soon, in keeping with the updated C standard. ...

Re: openvg library on Ubuntu-MATE

Hi, Thanks for the helpful reply, now the library compiled without errors or warnings. But when I tried to build the demo programs in the openvg/client/ folder, there were a bunch of errors. I modified the Makefile there too with the -std=gnu89 directive, but the errors remained : [email protected]:~$ ...

openvg library on Ubuntu-MATE

Hi, I had ajstarks' openvg library successfully working in Raspbian (Jessie). Later I wanted to try out Ubuntu-MATE, so I installed that on a fresh SDcard. I followed the same procedure to install the openvg library and got a bunch of errors & warnings : [email protected]:~$ git clone git://github.com/...

Re: Deluge is stopping after a while

The changes to the configuration file seem to have helped.

Deluge is running today for nearly 6 hrs without a crash. :D

Re: Deluge is stopping after a while

Jakob,
Did you log to console (-d) ?

I got the segmentation fault message on the console only.

It was not there in my log file!

I also found this blog, which deals with the exact same symptoms.

I've made the configuration changes as suggested therein, so I'll report after a while if it worked ... ;)

Re: Deluge is stopping after a while

It has become impossible to download anything. The deluge daemon keeps stopping every few minutes. I don't want to return to my windows PC and uTorrent (which worked for years flawlessly). I'm not a Linux person, but I wanted to give Raspberry Pi/Deluge combo a shot. So far it has been utterly frust...

Re: Deluge is stopping after a while

I'm facing exactly the same issue. I've installed Deluge since a few days, and this issue keeps cropping up. The Deluge daemon just stops randomly... sometimes after a few hours, sometimes after a few minutes. I have to be constantly checking via the web UI, and manually start the daemon each time I...

Re: WiringPi: question about multiThread program

I managed to track down the bug. I was calling a shell command inside one thread using a file pointer which was also being used by the main thread. I just created separate file pointer for the thread, and the problem went away. Many thanks for your help ! I'll post further updates here :-) I plan to...

Things are not going all that well ... Re: WiringPi: question about multiThread program

Thank You.

So to increase the number of shared variables I edit this line:

Code: Select all

static pthread_mutex_t piMutexes [4] ;
and change the '4' to any value I want ?

BTW,

Code: Select all

man pthread_mutex_lock
gives me:

Code: Select all

No manual entry for pthread_mutex_lock

WiringPi: question about multiThread program

Hello, I have made a C program under gcc using wiringPi, which is working well. I want tp try multi threading to improve performance of certain part of my code. I'm not clear about the piLock / piUnLock functions. To quote from the wiringPi reference page, piLock (int keyNum) ; piUnlock (int keyNum)...
