Re: RPi Garage Door Opener

Usually garage door openers have a connection for a push button The wired door open/closed push button is normally connected to the these terminals on the garage door opener. Use the RPi gpio to drive a relay connected across the push button terminals on the garage door opener. You'll need a circuit...

Re: IR-Camera / Q about Sensitivity

There is a open source thermal imaging camera for iphone and android
which works over bluetooth. You might be able to do something with it

Re: Completely Wireless Garage Door Opener / Security Cam

Motion decal/reflector, IR sounds promising I suppose you might be able to expand it a bit more and use opencv facial recognition to open the door. Re: Completely Wireless Garage Door Opener / Security Cam

The light senor idea sounds good, but I guess you'd need to somehow sense both closed and open I haven't used motion but If motion could determine if the garage door is open or closed your problems would be over ? Which I suppose would be more difficult with the possibility of vehicles, other object...

Using reed switches you could get notification the door is open, cl...

Re: RT5370 WiFi cuts out after some hours, needs reboot?

I was still getting random disconnect messages in /var/log/messages, far fewer than I was originally seeing I discovered a rouge AP which would randomly appear with the same SSID as my wireless. Even though the signal strength appeared to be very low on the rogue AP the rpi tried to connect to it ca...
