Re: Problem with idleS subproces

Hi, I have had this problem erratically. I haven't really got to the bottom of it. Various others suggest that if you give a script the name of a keyword in python like 'random.py' you will get a problem. I don't think any of my scripts did that but renamed a few and the problem appears to have gone...

Key configuration files

Is there any merit in a list of the main configuration files with a description of what they do and links to examples and option lists? i have never found such a list. Many problems involve these and their importance changes with major upgrades. I play around with these for different hardware config...

Graphical interface for raspistill

Here is simple graphical interface for testing out some of the options when taking photos on the Raspberry Pi camera. Written in python 2.7, it collects the options required, calls the command line program “rapistill” and then loads the image. It works when running headless over ssh – a main driver ...

Re: RPi Camera Python Module

I haven't got a full module running yet, still experimenting, but here is a simple python script to create a time lapse camera. It is simple in that all it organises is to take pictures at user selected intervals and put the JPGs in the current ditrectory. All modules are in the standard python 2.7 ...

Re: works but cant stop

A crude solution is to monitor the status of another GPIO pin with a switch attached and use this to terminate your loop or even to block your logging loop from starting.

There must be a more elegant way but this would work.

Re: Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

After several downloads and several sd cards all 4GB but different makes, all given the kernel panic message, I tried what is mentioned above, the keyboard. It booted without the very basic key board i had been using. So I tried a wireless one and bingo, I am up and running. Change your keyboard! If...
