Re: Static and Sensor modules

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried them all and nothing has worked. There is no error message, it just freezes after I do any raspivid or raspistill command.

A new camera is on the way.

Re: Static and Sensor modules

I certainly wasn't aware of any static discharge, nor have I ever noticed any while at my desk. I'd imagine the amount it takes to destroy a static sensitive chip would be way below the threshold of human perception. I imagined that it was only sensitive to static until it was connected to the board...

Re: Static and Sensor modules

Good point, but I already tried it.

I guess what worries me is that you still need to be super careful about handling it even once it's all plugged in and running.

Re: Static and Sensor modules

I reflashed the card, set it all up again, and exactly the same result. When I try to take a photo or video the red light on the camera turns on, and the RPi freezes.

Off to buy a new camera

Re: Static and Sensor modules

I've got a camera that stopped working. Nobody has given any symptoms above so I just want to check if mine sounds like it's died of static. When I try to take a photo/video the red light on the camera comes on, and the RPi freezes with a blank line. It happens whether I'm saving the image, or using...

Re: Ad Hoc Wifi Share

OMG, that was ridiculously easy. I connected first time with Filezilla.

Thank you so much. I've been bashing my head against the wall for three nights following those other tutorials. (One night of progress, two nights of bashing). Thanks again.

Re: Ad Hoc Wifi Share

Yes I tried raspberry (it's good to know that it's the Pi password I need because I tried every possible other windows user password I could think of). I think it was trying to connect to my home wifi which was switched on and connected (and also has the IP 192.168.1.1). I disconnected from it and n...

Ad Hoc Wifi Share

Hi, I want to be able to access a folder on my RPi from my windows laptop wirelessly. This will be outdoors, so there is no router/ internet connection, just the RPi and the laptop. The application is actually a RPi and camera in a model plane taking aerial photos. I want to access them in real time...
