Re: Kodi, Raspbian Lite, Headless, Putty, Possible?

The full desktop isn't required for retropie or kodi. Retropie uses something called emulationstation, which is what provides the nice configurable menu system for launching emulators. You should be able to configure everything to boot directly into emulationstation and from there you can launch Kod...

Re: When will Raspberry Foundation admit that the Pi destroys your SD cards?

I had problems with SD corruption only in my early days of Pi tinkering (Pi1 model B). Most of my problems were related to two things: Bad power source (Get a good powered USB hub with a 2.5A+ adapter) Improper shutdowns (use SSH to log in remotely and run 'sudo shutdown') If you attach the SD card ...

Re: USB HDD doesn't park/spindown when shutting down (errors every time)

USB HDD doesn't park/spindown when shutting down (errors every time)

I have a Pi 2 running with the root partition on a USB HDD (Western Digital My Passport 1 TB). If I connect the USB HDD to the USB ports directly on the Pi, shutting down results in what I believe is power being cut to the usb ports before the HDD can unmount. Every time I restart there are disk err...
