Re: Raspberry Pi 4 no input, black screen
Quick update to this that might help someone. I'm lucky enough that in my house I have a few different screens/monitors, so after verifying that the Raspbian Buster image I was writing was ok (sha256 hash check) and the green flashing light was doing what it should (with no card solid on for a coupl...

Re: RPI2 freeze on boot
Hi guys, I'm also seeing this on a rpi2 running raspbian (2015-02-16-raspbian-wheezy). Potentially a little more info though, it booted fine the first time around, went through config (overclocking to a rpi2 level made it definitely faster booting), startx'ed up through to the full GUI. I used the w...

Re: ALSA lib pcm.c:7339:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred
Apologies for raising this from the dead again, but did anyone get somewhere with this?
I've a pygame python script that will run untouched for approx 6 hours, then bail out with the underrun error, the script is for an raspi driven alarm clock so would be amazing to get this properly sorted.

Re: SDL_mixer Audio problems
Ooooh that IS interesting! Mostly because you got it to NOT throw the error. I'm investigating the same error, but from a entirely different perspective. I'm trying to create a Raspi Python driven (using the PyGame library) alarm clock for my boy and although my little python script does throw this,...

Had this issue...until I got a brand new bluetooth dongle and it all started working.

Re: 01/16 UltraSlim = Retro/Gaming/Q3|XBMC 12/13|Desktop + m
Hi All, I'm having issues building Sixad on ultraslim so I can use my ps3 controllers. Oddly I had this all worked out for RetroPie, but ultraslim looked interesting so I thought I'd give it a spin. So, the main issue is on the checkinstall process, it goes through the package generation process and...

Also, you say th esolution must be portable. What do you actually want to achieve? If you're looking for something with a smaller res you could opt for a txt car reversing screen? 4.3" = http://www.amazon.co.uk/TFT-LCD-Rearview-Monitor-Pocket-sized-Automobile/dp/B006JY4TQW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&am...

Re: Project Cabinet Raspberry Pi Core
Personally I'm using the retropie distro to great effect, it gives all the cores you mention, plus a whole loads more I've commented out to remove interface bloat! It accepts standard the joystick interface so I think it should be no issue with berighteous's style of rig. (personally I use mine with...

Sorry to potentially confuse the topic, but I might have some info that might help here. I've bought a couple of 12v screens for the pi, a 7" and a 4.3". The 4.3" looks very similar to the one mentioned here. mine is : http://www.amazon.co.uk/TFT-LCD-Rearview-Monitor-Pocket-sized-Auto...

Well, that's a kernel panic issue.
Simplest solution would be to download the rom again, this time use a MD5 hash checker to make sure it downloaded correctly, then apply the rom.

Hi Guys, Took some snaps of the RetroPie-Wii today, none of the inside but when you see this it will all make sense: http://headstrongdesign.co.uk/retropiewii/case_main.jpg So this is the main side of it, I've embedded a simple 7" tft screen (from a vehicle reversing screen) into the side of th...

Well sure, but I don't know how helpful it will be, I literally found the cheapest 'buy it now' with free shipping, the guy has raised the price now (was £1.15) so strongly suggest you do the same. This is the ebay posting though: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221293786726?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_...

Re: Retropie and PS3 issues.
Blimey! that one caught me off guard. Potentially, yes.. I think.
The biggest issue will be getting it alongside the 7" screen, if you're thinking of not having a screen in there and connecting that separately it will be fine.

yeaaaaahhhh, working on that... lets say version 1 is good, but not quite good enough. Planning another build for a mate which I'll document properly.. if I get a couple mins though I'll pull ver1 apart and shoot some snaps. Essentially though, the space inside a wii is pretty bloody massive, so you...

Re: help! ps3 controller recognized but not syncing?
Hmn, odd. I found pretty much the same thing, I swapped out the bluetooth adapter for a Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) bluetooth dongle, that now connects my Sony controllers perfectly, but my fake bluetooth controllers (that work on the PS3 itself) don't work.

Absolutely, and apologies if I go into too much detail ;) Okies, after everything it truly was the simplest thing! So, here (hopefully) is a step by step that will work. Firstly I was using the most up to date retropie image, (1.8.1 from http://blog.petrockblock.com/download/retropie-project-image/)...

Guys, solved this by getting a new bluetooth adapter.
Seems the old one was JUST new enough to give a false positive, with the new adapter jstest works as expected

When I was a nipper, I had a Spectrum, played LOADS of games on it, and it was that that really got me into all the things I'm into today. But.. it wasn't that fact it was programmable (the programmability on the Spectrum was terrible, it was nigh impossible to remember the specific key presses to w...

Re: Raspberry Pi Mounting Nas
Well personally (and I'm still a bit of a newby myself) I would try to connect to the device through the PI as a normal user, then break that down bit by bit till I can run a command to do that, then I'd use that command in a mount on boot process with a watcher to see if if gets disconnected, and i...

Re: Camera OK during night segfaults at dawn with mjpg-strea
Well (and I'm just guessing here) that command includes the switch 'night' which suggests to me that the feed monitor is optimised for low light levels, so when the light levels raise above the threshold it's outside the range and dropping the stream. What I'd do is look at that switch to see what t...
