Re: Cron Job Not Running

I had the same problem - I've changed TZ but it seems that cron did not respect that change. I had to reboot and after that TZ was applied correctly and now it works.

Re: Old-school serial port

You can also emulate serial port using GPIOs (bitbanging). Dig this question a little bit deeper http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/qu ... ing-a-uart.

Re: Use raspberry pi as serial bus logger?

I think that you understood my need in a wrong way. There is connection between 2 microcontrollers (uC1 and uC2) and 1 sensor like this: +-----+ +-----------+ +--------+ | | | | | | | +--+------+Tx SDA+-+----+ | | uC1 | | | uC2 | | | Sensor | | +------+--+Rx SCL+---+--+ | | | | | | | | | | | +-----+...

Re: Use raspberry pi as serial bus logger?

UART is 9600, I2C I don't know yet, we may assume that it will not be very fast.

Use raspberry pi as serial bus logger?

I have to make a logger device which logs multiple serial buses. To be precise I have 2 processors which talks via UART and one of those processors gets data from sensor via I2C. So I have to sniff on: - UART Tx - UART Rx - SDL Data collected from those lines should be in sync (i.e. if UART Tx sends...

But don't be discouraged by those comments - it's possible but you have to implement it by yourself. There's no off-the-shelf solution that I'm aware of.

Why this news from today was removed?

I have a copy of it if somebody wants, anyway it's still on the internet - you can find it :).

Re: Is Raspberry Pi embedded linux platform

to avoid further confusion: I was wondering how raspberry pi can be used in the embedded linux training filed, because I'm watching on many job postings with "linux embedded" and to get some practice it seems to be the cheapest solution

Is Raspberry Pi embedded linux platform

Hello,

this question may seem a little bit silly and general but I'd like to know if raspberry pi is embedded linux education platform?
It's small, can be even battery powered, it uses specially baked Debian so I can call it embedded linux or not?

Thanks, I'll check.

So I guess that compiling it by myself like this is also no use when I've already updated to3.10.18+?
