Re: HowTo: Setup a Remote Desktop with VNC server

Yes - in the first link above I simply connect my Pi to my laptop using an ethernet cable, SSH in, then VNC in.

Re: Win32 disc imager problem

Have you cleared out the partitions on the card before you use DD? If not, you'll need to do that first (you can see how on both my & Davespice's blogs - links above)

Re: The new forums are here!

I like the new layout (switched to Prosilver) and the general feel is pretty good. :) As I can't go back to prove it - are links to external pages now only opened in the same browser tab? I seem to remember they opened in a different tab on the old forum (HTML "Target=erewhon") Firefox 12 on Win 7....

Yes, that's what I've figured. Pi 1 (without the CE sticker) arrived about 4 weeks ago.

Re: The new forums are here!

OK - so having read through this I've got a couple of thoughts: 1. @RPF - Well done! Don't worry, there will always be some people that are never happy 2. I like the new forum look & feel - no issue with the colour 3. A few functional issues (which I'm sure will be addressed in time) a) breadcrumbs ...

I haven't tried it myself, but apparently Chromium works quite well. There's a good wiki page on installing it.

Difference between Pi 1 & Pi 2

So I received my 2nd Pi today (don't worry - going to good home) - and I noticed a few differences. Pi 1 has an RJ45 connector made by Bothhand (LB) Pi 2 has an RJ45 connector made by HanRun Both seem to hace magnetics :) Pi 1 has no CE sticker Pi 2 has a CE sticker Just above the SD card: Pi 1 has ...

Re: Win32 disc imager problem

Guys, if this is just the drop down list for the drive letter not being populated - I have seen this. I've worked around it by just restarting Win32DiskImager a few times and it does finds it after 4 or 5 tries. I think it's a bug in the program. I posted on my blog agaes ago about it. I did get W3...

Thanks - that looks quite neat. And the built-in FTP (or SFTP I guess it is) would be quite useful to take a closer look locally at any larger text files than the shell will easily display.

Re: Win32 disc imager problem

I've had the same issue - no matter what I do, I can't get W32DI to pick up and SD card. I've used DD instead. It's a command-line tool, but it's a fairly simple process. I've written a guide here that should walk you through the process: http://myraspberrypiexperience.blogspot.co.uk/p/using-dd-for-...

Re: No HDMI or RCA Video Output from brand new board.

It might be your displays?  Have you got anything with HDMI only?  If not, take your Pi down to your local Electronics retailer, tell them that you're thinking of buying a new TV but want to make sure it supports your Pi and test it out.

Be prepared to be mobbed though
