Re: New firmware 4.1.10-v7+ causing crashes on RPi2?

Why did you run rpi-update ? One of the beautiful things about the Raspberry Pi platform is that it's a novel way to experiment and play with things, especially as new features get introduced in a fairly dynamic and agile way. I ran it because I could, and there were no issues with 4.1.8. The quest...

Re: New firmware 4.1.10-v7+ causing crashes on RPi2?

I will just go ahead and downgrade to my last known good configuration, which was the 4.1.8+ version.

In case you want to do it yourself:

Code: Select all

sudo rpi-update 608c3b3e994e086d400f77469682ff1e8f346e27

New firmware 4.1.10-v7+ causing crashes on RPi2?

Gang, Yesterday I had been running my Raspberry Pi solidly for quite some time and ran a rpi-update which updated my kernel to 4.1.10-v7+. I was running 4.1.8-v7+ beforehand and it was fine. Now I get random lockups within maybe 30 minutes of it being online. I've disconnected all USB devices and ke...

Re: system-info - my RaspberryPi system summary script

Hi Mick! There could be a lot of factors that are feeding into your system's peculiar behaviour. It might be best to start interacting with the vgencmd commands invoked periodically to see if there are major differences. http://elinux.org/RPI_vcgencmd_usage will show you the various options you can ...

Re: system-info - my RaspberryPi system summary script

To be honest, I've actually cut out a lot of the stuff with the idea that I'd be able to display it all within a 80x24 terminal window. I wanted it to be a bit unique to the hardware circumstances rather than simply replace the system utilities like top and uptime. I suppose I should work on a "verb...

Re: dmidecode

In case anyone was searching for dmidecode for RaspberryPi, my system-info script should provide some comparable info.

Please see http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 6&p=429560 for info and downloads!

Thank you!

system-info - my RaspberryPi system summary script

Hi gang. I was a little annoyed that there didn't seem to be an "all in one info" script that would provide info about my RaspberryPi. In this void, I found other scripts doing some of what I was looking for, but not all. Utilities existed for the x86 platform like dmidecode for dmi information (ser...
