Re: Progress bar in python output window

Interesting will look at this one also but SCRUSS solution worked a treat, thanks for the reply If you need solution without additional library you can check this code: https://github.com/project-owner/Peppy/blob/6f329489ee5cea05e57edcfdbda8c5457d7caf64/util/collector.py#L574 It's a modified version...

OK will give that a tweak, I was trying to work out what that "end" command was doing

Good stuff!

BTW, without the end='', print adds a newline, which is why you're having to move back up two lines instead of one.

Re: Progress bar in python output window

Thank you again, sorted it, I had to change it a little as it was still not working a I wanted it but I think the "A" command was what I was missing the "F" to move the line up was not working. So I ended up with this: for i in progressbar.progressbar(range(waitTime)): time.sleep(1) print("\033[2A")...

So what I mean is I see the progress bar and it goes to the end but when the loops starts again the next batch of text goes over the progress bar a...

Code: Select all

sudo pip3 install progressbar2
then something like:

Code: Select all

#!/usr/bin/python3

import time
import progressbar

for i in progressbar.progressbar(range(100)):
    time.sleep(0.02)
All the documentation.

Progress bar in python output window

I have a small program that reads a temperature sensor that runs in a Python3 window and outputs readings to that window, it takes readings every 300 seconds. I want to try and create a text based progress bar, the kind you sometimes see when installing software in the terminal window. So the viewer...

Re: Another basic updating question

Thank you :D dist-upgrade and full-upgrade are synonyms. upgrade doesn't replace packages. dist-upgrade does replace packages (but because of the way DebIan is built that function isn't used anyway). Just run sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade -y && sudo reboot [if needed] and all will be good...

Turn out it was my card reader and Motion Eyes giving issues

If it is booting on at least 1 OS it has not died.

Nothing is stored on the RPi itself and therefore needs to reset other than a power cycle. Everything is on the boot medium.

You may find it easier to solder to the other end of the pins on the underside of the board. That also has the advantage of leaving the pins intact and able to use a connector should that be desirable at a future time.
Good tip

Any tips on soldering wire direct to GPIO, I can't seem to make wire stick.

If it does then it tend to break of leaving no solder on GPIO pins.

That'll send output to the text console. If you're running the desktop you won't see it unless you switch to it. Take it out of rc.local and try what MarkDH102 suggested but be aware that with that method it will only run when your user is logged into the desktop. You might also find it runs more t...
