Arduino IDE 1.6.12 Install [obsolete]

Installing the Arduino 1.6.12 IDE on Raspberry Pi Who would have thought that this would be so complicated. Or maybe, it was just complicated for me. I thought that I looked everywhere on a step-by-step for installing this, but I finally found it on a forum. Thanks to the beer & chips forum, because...

ADCPi Plus from ABElectronics

Has anyone had any luck using the python3 libraries with the ADCPi? It works fine until trying to compile with gcc, then it fails. The website for the commands involved in setup are here: https://github.com/abelectronicsuk/ABElectronics_Python3_Libraries/tree/master/ADCPi Any help would be appreciat...

Re: Pure Python camera interface

Good morning, I was awakened by cats fighting outside and couldn't go back to sleep, so I thought I would work on getting my camera to work on my PI2. raspistill -o photo.jpg works just fine, but the simplest example from picamera fails. But it has failed in two distinctly different ways. Initially,...

Re: Output Control with Multiple PiFace

But... wait... there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I wrote a quick program and it totally worked. Why? I have no idea.

But, no matter, success... of a sort.

Thanks y'all.

Re: Output Control with Multiple PiFace

And now I have added an external power supply to the PiRack and changed the jumpers appropriately. Still nothing.

Drop kick is the next step.

Re: Output Control with Multiple PiFace

Ok. So I have the PiRack in place with four of the PiFace modules installed. I have all of the jumpers in the right positions to allow addressing each of the different PiFace modules on the PiRack. I've started the PiFace Digital Emulator and tried to toggle the Output Control 0 on the 0 board... su...

Re: Installing PyGObject

Thanks DirkS :D , I went out and searched for a little less than an hour and found something that helped with the whole GTK portion of the project that I am working on. This link was fantastically helpful in getting the GTK installed onto the rPi: http://helloraspberrypi.blogspot.com/2013/12/install...

Output Control with Multiple PiFace

Good afternoon, In working with multiple PiFace modules on the PiRack (thanks Dougie), I see that the outputs can be controlled using the jumpers and addressing them through the use of the command p.digital_write(pin,value,board) However, I am trying to control the entire port, and not just the indi...

Using Multiple PiFaces

Is there an extender board to allow the use of multiple PiFace boards? I think I remember seeing something about that, but I can't find anything anywhere about it. I must admit the my search is not exhaustive. :)

Unix on Pi

Is there a "Unix" distribution for Pi? FreeBSD or a Solaris emulator?

Looking to run a program that is currently working on a SUN Ultra 5 and porting it to the Raspberry Pi. Any thoughts?

PiFace and Camera Module

Is it possible to attach the PiFace to the rPi B (not B+) and the Camera Module at the same time?

I don't see how the camera will connect with the PiFace stacked on top.

Guess I could take it apart and try it out.

I'm going to have to go with the B (and not the B+). That tilted-ness is not a professional clean look.

Thanks for the info.

I'm going to try to find 50 B's and 50 PiFace's.

Re: PiFace for B+

Can you stack the PiFace directly on the B+ via the GPIO pins? Or do you need to use a ribbon to connect them.

Is the B going to be phased out, and the B+ going to be taking its place? Or will the B board continue to be manufactued?

Pushover for Python3

With the help and hints from several people and sources, I am putting up the code that worked in getting the web servPushover to work for Python3. It's not much different than the code found in this forum for Python, but there are a couple of changes. import urllib #import httplib import http.client...

Re: Installing Pushover

I got it figured out. I took DougieLawsons advice about whitespace and went through the patch of code. I hadn't put spaces in certain areas. The tabs were okay, but spaces in between places that I would not have thought important were missing. Now it works just as I would have hoped. I will post the...
