Re: Supertuxkart on Raspberry Pi

Installing version 1.0 from the PPA should be as simple as adding "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/stk/dev/ubuntu disco main" to your sources.list and running "sudo apt update && sudo apt install supertuxkart" so long as you are on Raspbian Buster. If you are on an earlier version of Raspbian, I recom...

Re: RASPBERRY PI MODEL B 700Mhz; 512Mb RAM is very, very slow

Treat yourself to a 3B+ or 4B for desktop use, and put the old PiB to another good use.

Mine is currently running Dump1090 and feeding data into FlightRadar24, giving me a free business account! Before that it was a webcam server, the Original B is plenty for these uses.

LM75 temperature sensor not working

Hi, I’ve just built a new Jessie image for my Pi3, whilst doing this I found that my LM75 temperature sensor is not longer being correctly identified, it does not look as if the driver is being loaded for it. I2C is enabled and running, my RTC is working OK. I’ve added this to /boot/config.txt & reb...

It sounds silly, but is the usb c all the way in? I was seeing the same, when I checked the connector had not "clicked", pushed it right in and it was fine.

I'm not saying that the process is pointless, I was going to offer to test on my 4, but just randomly picking torrents is not much of a basis for comparison.

Have you got a reference torrent, something legal, a distro or something, bit of a pointless exercise otherwise.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 - new VLI firmware issues

Hi, I had a quick play with the new firmware last night. I saw a small reduction in throughput with a SSD in a USB 3 caddy, possibly 10Mb/Sec, 240 down to 230, I cant be too certain on this though. Like the post above though I have seen odd behavior, I have a wireless keyboard mouse plugged into one...

Re: Pi 4b and TV hat

I think Dougie got it to install with some apt wizardry, adding Stretch as a source I think. If I find the link I'll post back.

Edit.

the problem is that those who today buy a raspberry and a tvhat and have no stretch image available, on the site there is only the buster version of 06-20-2019
For reference old images can be found here.

Re: RaspberryPi 4: heatsink or fan

Something like this ? https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/fan-shim Very much so! That is not SMBus am I right? Because you can read the fan speed or do other sh*t by using only one I2C bus and on address. I would imagine it's I2C, to be honest I've not looked yet, my box of goodies is waiting for me...
