I have tried all the updates and upgrades, but still no luck. What do you mean by the hints?

Re: Sense HAT on Pi Zero interim fix

I have followed all the advice I can find but I can't get the Sense-hat software running on the pi zero. The problem arises when the sense = SenseHat() statement is encountered. Here is the message I keep getting, whatever example I try to run: [email protected]:~/astro-pi-examples/python $ python rand...

Re: Python/tkinter template

I'm just getting started with Python / Tkinter for GUIs and would be very interested in such a template. Unfortunately my knowledge isn't good, so I couldn't comment unless I got a working template. I use nano to do the editing, and just run programs using sudo python ****.py I would be grateful for...

Re: Python Tkinter GPIO User Interface

This looks like an extremely useful GUI. It would be nice to do something similar for the Raspberry Pi Camera (control settings, take pictures etc).
Good work!

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

Hi - it looks like you guys are getting to the bottom of streaming mjpg from the Pi Cam. Would it be possible for someone to put together a series of simple steps to allow a newbie like me to stream RasPiCam images over the web?

Thanks

Re: Scientific Python

How did you get on? I would be very grateful if you could give me the commands to load pylab (numpy, scipy & matplotlib) on the Pi.

Re: WiringPython - WiringPi for Python

Thank you!! I copied wiringpi.py from /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages to /home/pi where my Python program lives, over-writing the old file - and it now works!! My old version of wiringpi.py was evidently out of date.

Re: WiringPython - WiringPi for Python

In my wiringpi.py, there is the following section:

Code: Select all

83   def wiringPiGpioMode(*args):
84 return _wiringpi.wiringPiGpioMode(*args)
85 wiringPiGpioMode = _wiringpi.wiringPiGpioMode
and this last line is where it's failing:
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'wiringPiGpioMode'

Re: WiringPython - WiringPi for Python

Hi Gadgetoid I previously had WiringPi working but on upgrading my Wheezy from 2012-07-15-wheezy-raspbian to the 2012-08-16-wheezy-raspbian version, I'm getting: ImportError: No module named _wiringpi I have tried sudo apt-get install python-dev python-pip Then: sudo pip install wiringpi but the wir...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Thank you (Mr Engman) so much - I was following this conversation very closely as I had similar problems after updating/upgrading, and thanks to your solutions, I got it going - what a marathon. Your efforts are much appreciated.

Re: WiringPython - WiringPi for Python

I'm a newbie, and I'm getting very confused about getting WiringPi for Python working. I have installed python-dev, and run the following lines: wget http://raspberry-gpio-python.googlecode.com/files/python-rpi.gpio_0.3.1a-1_armhf.deb sudo dpkg -i python-rpi.gpio_0.3.1a-1_armhf.deb but when I run th...

Re: How can I transfer my Python files from PC to RPi?

Many thanks to all for great advice. What I am now doing is using my Gmail to email myself files (from PC to Pi and Pi to PC!). This works great for all kinds of files, and if I need to print a listing from Geany, I just print it to a PDF file, and email myself that, so that I can then print it on m...

How can I transfer my Python files from PC to RPi?

Forgive me if I am using the wrong part of the Forum, but I am a novice and have been busily typing in some Python programs to my PC (with Oracle VM Virtual Box, LXDE & Geany) before I got delivery of the Pi. Now that I have the little gem, I would like to easily transfer those Python files to the P...
