Re: Video lags in VLC (Raspbian Buster) in Raspberry Pi 2

Well, the version of VLC currently shipped is supposed to have proper hardware acceleration. That is why I opened the thread.
I will play some other video and report what happens.

If it is a bad file, is there a github repository where I can open a bug report?

Re: Video lags in VLC (Raspbian Buster) in Raspberry Pi 2

I did not really understand what you mean by container, but the file lags in VLC both when running in a window and in full screen mode.

Libreoffice 6.1 is slow in Raspberry Pi 2

In Raspbian Buster, the default version of Libreoffice is 6.1.

This version of Libreoffice takes 20 second or more to start up. The version of libreoffice in Raspbian Stretch was quite faster than this.

Is there a workaround? Otherwise, it takes almost 20 seconds to open a document.

Video lags in VLC (Raspbian Buster) in Raspberry Pi 2

I installed a fresh image of Raspbian Buster in my Raspberry Pi 2. When I run the Big Buck Bunny video in VLC (both in full screen and window mode), the video lags. As far as I can remember, this did not happen in Stretch. However, when I play it from OMXPlayer it does not lag anymore. How to solve ...

Re: Hardware accelerated VLC takes much more resourses than OMXPlayer

Yes. When VLC is full screened, it takes only 4%-5%.
Also, when I use mPlayer, the usage goes up to 90-100%, so hardware acceleration is definitely working in VLC.

Hardware accelerated VLC takes much more resourses than OMXPlayer

I am using the latest version of Raspbian with a Raspberry Pi 2. To play the same video, when I use vlc, CPU usage becomes about 40% to 50%, but when I use OMXPlayer, it is only 2% - 5%. Codec information from VLC Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) The extension of the video is .MOV . Similar...

xrandr not working in Raspbian Jessie

When I use the command

Code: Select all

xrandr -q
I get

Code: Select all

xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
I need xrandr to work for our Brightness Controller software to work in Raspberry Pi.

I am using Raspbian Jessie.

I am using a HDMI to VGA adapter.

Re: Ubuntu 15.04 / Mate for Raspberry Pi 2

I tried this distro 4 days ago and wasn't impressed, but just loaded it again since being added to NOOBS and it rocks. I have only been using it for a few hours but it is faster and more desktop alternative friendly than Raspbian in my opinion. I have been using Ubuntu flavors (mainly Xubuntu) for ...
