What size are you looking for? The sense Hat could do orientation and acceleration. Long distances probably would require a GPS module.

Thank you for your response. The sense Hat sounds good as the pi will only be travelling a matter of feet.

Kilometres or fractions of a millimetre?
Thank you for your response.
I was thinking of someone running with an object for about 6 to 12 foot.

Detect Movement of the RPi itself

Hi

I don't want motion detection in the usual cctv way with cameras.

What I would like to do is trigger an event when a device with an embedded RPi is physically moved from one place to another and if possible measure the speed of the movement.

Suggestions appreciated.

Pi connected to touchscreen

I am preparing some pi for younger members of the extended family. I've connected a raspberry pi 2 Model V to a raspberry pi foundation touchscreen and have the power to the pi coming in via the GPIO pins. It is working fine. There is a possibility that they might also power the pi with its own cabl...

Re: Sound Monitoring

Thank you for your response. It is helpful. Yes I agree with your points and the the r pi can help in making sure that there is no building noise outside the proper hours. It will be my eyes and ears.

Sound Monitoring

I would like some advice on how I might monitor sound on a house refurb to make sure that sound is kept at a reasonable level for the neighbours especially outside of regular working hours. I envisage that I would have to use more than one pi to do this. Advice on starting points for this or pointin...

Re: HELP losing motivation as a beginner

I understand the problem of the different setups. I also think it is difficult as an expert to predict how someone will interpret their instructions without user testing. The raspberry Pi site is excellent with the NOOBS setups for the raspberry pi. Perhaps there could be, some time in the future, a...

Re: HELP losing motivation as a beginner

I understand exactly how you feel. I've tried and given up on a radio following a Linux User magazine. I then thought I would try the Adafruit one. Got all the bits in the post and then dicscoverd this is based on Pandora which is not available in Europe. I'm now trying to follow Bob Rathbone's inst...

Re: Navigate to files

Hello Thank you all for your help. Using some of the commands you gave me I discovered that the files I put on the SD card for PiAUISuite could not been seen. I started from the beginning, formatting the SD card and downloading the Noobs zip file. That is really well done and gives you bite sizes pi...

Navigate to files

I have got the Pi working on my television with Raspian on the SD card. I also copied the unzipped files for PiAUISuite-master to the SD card. The tutorial I am following simply says that I need to navigate to the install file. At the command line I need to enter some instructions to get to the fold...
