I've tested it, so updated to the new beta pieeprom , and installed the latest firmware . The boot seems to work very well and very fast on USB 3.0 port, without any microSD card. Well, I have fixed my problem by returning to the version I used prior to running rpi-update. I did this by copying the contents of /boot from the sd card i created initially to the /boot of the usb stick. I then edited the /boot/cmdline.txt of the memory stick and pointed it to sda2 instead of the ...

I configured my rpi3 to usb boot last week, and was working well. I did an rpi-update using BRANCH=next to update to the latest kernel this afternoon.
Oops, mistake, as now the rpi3 takes forever to go from text mode to graphical desktop mode(around 10 minutes).

Any ideas?
