Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

Hi, I am trying to install the new motioneye on raspbian and am getting stuck trying to run systemctl daemon-reload and the other systemctl commands. In order to be able to use the systemctl command I ran sudo apt-get install systemd systemd-sysv and can now run systemctl daemon-reload but trying to...

Re: New Complete Web-Based SqueezePlug Version Available

I love the way this brings Squeezeplug and Kodi together - I was running 2 separate raspberry pi's for ages. I also had a 3rd pi as a camera server with motion detection installed ( MotionPie ) to keep an eye on things at home and at work. Figured with the new Raspberry Pi 2 i could add this to the ...

Tweaks to speed up streaming

Hi,
I'm using the default settings and have pretty slow and choppy video on a decent speed wifi network. I have tried tweaking some settings but nothing really has much of an impact. Any suggestions on which settings will have the most impact to get a nice smooth video stream?

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hi,
Struggling to understand the scheduler completely. I would just like to stop the camera after work hours finish and restart in the morning. Not just motion but the actual stream as well - is this possible in scheduler?
Thanks

Re: Damaged solder pads for SD card slot

Thanks panik. I've gone ahead and soldered carefully but alas still a dead pi. Only the red PWR led comes on which i gather means no SD card being accessed. Will check over my solder joints with a magnifying glass and try again!

Re: Damaged solder pads for SD card slot

Thanks,
Are the top and bottom 2 not required to be connected (bridged in this case) for the pi to function? I assumed that if bottom 2 not then pin will think no card is present? And am I correct then that I could resolder the missing pad carefully to the R45 resistor?

Damaged solder pads for SD card slot

Hi, I dropped my pi with the SD card in and the SD card holder broke. I have got a replacement card holder but have noticed that 3 of the copper pads cracked off the board and stayed stuck on the broken holder. I can't see a line running to these pads on the PCB so not sure how / if possible to inte...

Re: piCorePlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite playe

Hi I just noticed this about a problem with too much noise = "hiss" in analog audio: https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/380 So you could try to add "disable_audio_dither=1" to config.txt? Steen Thanks Steen , I will try that. Turns out it was the wifi dongle causing the stuttering playb...

Re: piCorePlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite playe

Thanks for the reply - I'll take a look. Am building it into an existing set of headphones so space is an issue though. I have gotten rid of much of the hissing with setting volume to 100% as you suggested - still having problems with stuttering and stopping while playing though. Do you know what ar...

Re: piCorePlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite playe

Hi, Im running piCorePlayer on a Model A+ as a DIY wireless headphone -works great but I have a fairly loud background hiss when not playing any tracks. I assume the hiss is still there even when playing but hard to hear behind the music. Are there any recommended ALSA settings / parameters that may...

Re-wire DAC for newer GPIO layout

Hi, I have a Hifiberry DAC for a model B and would like to use it on b+ or pi 2. I know the gpio pins have changed from model b layout - would it be possible to figure out the old and new layout differences and wire the dac to the new pi this way? The P5 header doesn't seem to exist anymore, althoug...

Re: Squeezeplug whole house

I use an old 18v laptop power supply. This powers both the amp and the pi and yes just leave it running all the time. The link in my last post should give the details but you're basically running 2 instances of squeezelite on the pi, 1 using the amp as its output and the other using a USB sound card...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

Does anyone have a suggestion of how to ad DLNA client capabilities to squeezeplug (specifically for video). I am using my Pi primarily for multiroom audio and Squeezeplug is just perfect for that. I have the miniDLNA server running and easy to pop video's on the attached drive. Right now I am using...

Re: Squeezeplug whole house

I am using the Hifiberry amp with squeezeplug and i think it draws about 50w with my power supply - works great and plenty powerful. Incidentally I found this tutorial and succesfully have 2 players off each pi so can really get multiroom with only a few pi's

Re: raspbian-ua-netinst - Raspbian unattended netinstaller

But you can now achieve the same result by placing

Code: Select all

start_x=1
gpu_mem=128
in /boot/config.txt and

Code: Select all

blacklist i2c-bcm2708
in /etc/modprobe.d/camera-blacklist.conf
This worked perfectly to get the camera working - thanks

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

Hi great image and works seamlessly. I am trying to use apt-get to install squeezelite (a small audio player) but not having any luck, seems apt-get not supported and not too familiar with Buildboot. Any idea if its at all possible to install squeezelite package?
Thanks
