Hi,
Wanted to know if you plan to use AVRCP to control media playback or is it already part of the image ?

Re: Detecting USB Pen being plugged in.

one more thing . I will not be adding any thing to the program. I would actually run the program from the usbkey script if certain files are found in the drive after it is mounted

Re: Detecting USB Pen being plugged in.

Let me try. I am not good at this. It uses the udev linux kernel device manager. It manages the /dev nodes . When you plug the usb drive it creates the /dev/sd[a-h] node but every time you plug in the drive, it might not give the same device node. so I added a rule to make /dev/usbkey a symbolic lin...

Re: Detecting USB Pen being plugged in.

I too am new to this but here is what i did. I hope it helps 1) Created a rule file $ sudo vi /etc/udev/rules.d/10-usbstick.rules 2) Added the following SUBSYSTEMS=="usb",KERNEL=="sd[a-h]1",SYMLINK+="usbkey", RUN+="/usr/lib/udev/usbkey " SUBSYSTEMS=="usb",KERNEL=="sd[a-h]1",ACTION=="remove", RUN+="/...

Bluetooth AVRCP

Hi,
I am trying to get Raspberry pi to act as AVRCP CT to control the media player on Android. I was wondering if any one has succeeded in achieving it.

Re: Bluetooth CambridgeSiliconRadio : Pairing makes Kernel c

I got a new Bluetooth Adapter from Amazon http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B003WJBZK0 and it works fine. Tried to connect and disconnect couple of time . The older one still crashes . Both show as Cambridge Silicon Radio. $ uname -a Linux CarPC 3.6.11+ #408 PREEMPT Wed Apr 10 20:33:39 BST 2013 armv6l...

Re: How to best go about easily changing between static/DHCP

I personally would go with udev http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=168221 . I do it for checking updates on usb stick as the sd card in my case will not be not accessible as Pi will be installed in the car dash. In my test system udev scripts runs before the the networking scripts. Hope this h...

Based on wonderful advice and great help from techpaul & penguintutor I have come up with the new version of Car PC .

I might have made some mistake in understanding what techpaul might have meant and what I understood. Hence the new schematic for reference.

Re: Car PC Power Suppy idea

I am not good at this and will gladly take any help I get :D Doing some Google search I came across something called TVS diode. Still have to read about it. Does it make sense to add it here along with the bypass capacitors ? Using the current limiting resistor of 1K . The voltage drop across LED is...

Car PC Power Suppy idea

Hi, I am planning to install raspberry pi in my car as a media player . May be later install Bluetooth adapter and connect to ODB2 interface. The PSU is going to be a challenge. The plan is to have a delayed power off circuit. As soon as the ignition is off the GPIO Pin will go low and the script in...

Hi,
Were you able to solve the problem or did you buy another Bluetooth adapter ? I have the same problem with 2 BT adapters from Cambridge Silicon Radio.
