Re: Universal GPIO keyboard daemon

Hi David, Thanks for your response. Considering scripting is all very new to me, I'll probably need some help on this. When I look at the files on GitHub, I see 2 files that have key definitions being Keydefs.c and pikeyd.conf. I assume I need to configure the last one. I am going to use an MCP23001...

Re: Universal GPIO keyboard daemon

Hi all, I had a quick (and hopefully) easy question regarding pikeyd. I am looking into building a squeezelite player with jivelite showing the squeezebox UI on a 3.5 inch touchscreen. I can control squeezelite through the touchscreen but also was thinking of adding buttons to create shortcuts (e.g....

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi Gerrelt, Has been a while since my last post and I still owed you feedback on the sound issue when updating RaspBMC from Frodo to Gotham. Unfortunately after updating the sound issue still remained, so I finally decided to switch from RaspBMC to Openelec. After I finally managed to get squeezelit...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi Gerrelt, Would you by any chance have an update on the Raspbmc Gotham release giving crackled sound in squeezelite. As you suggested, I reduced the USB speed to 1, which solves the sound issue. Unfortunately, it also caps the speed of the network port so I can no longer watch 720p movies (they pl...

Re: Updating LMS 7.7.2 to 7.8

Castalla, I'm trying to install LMS v7.8.1 on an RPI running Raspbmc using the All Things Pi how-to for Rasbian (Raspbmc being a modded raspbian distribution). I encountered the same problem as the patch error described above. Now, I'm a bit confused about the msg in your last post and your post of ...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Just to make sure I have this right. The cmdline.txt currently reads: dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 ro$ After the amendment it should read dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 ro$ dwc_otg.speed=1 Right? Yep! That should do it. I thought that the line was longer though...I will check ...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Thanks again for your reply Gerrelt. Swift and to the point as always. I'll try and adjust the /boot/cmdline.txt as you suggested and report back the result. As regards the wifi dongle/antenna, I'll look into it. Might just switch back to the wired connection though. Main reason for the switch was e...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian

Hi Gerrelt, Hope you are doing well and still enjoying your raspbmc with squeezelite in the back. I have 2 questions for you: (1) I have recently updated raspbmc to the latest version incorporating the update of XBMC to Gotham. Ever since squeezelite is producing crackling sound. I was just wonderin...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian Wheezy

Hi Gerrelt, Just a small remark on the RPI squeezelite tutorial website you made (which is great by the way). Where you state "Internet radio, MP3′s and I believe even Spotify is possible", you can leave out the "I believe". I can confirm that Spotify does work if you use Triode's plugin (not the of...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian Wheezy

I already have a spare RPI available for when the boss of the house is old enough to have/appreciate TV and music in her room (she's 1,5 y now). Especially the fact that we as parents can control/monitor what she watches and listens to :-) :-) :-)

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian Wheezy

Tried your fix on my RPI running the LMS and also there it worked. Sorry I got you hooked on RaspBMC. I just love this distro. I now have my ultimate multiroom media center individually playing my movies and tv-series in 3 rooms (RPI -> HDMI -> TV) from a network hdd and serving audio in 3 rooms (RP...

Hi Gerrelt
I just tried your fix on one of my players (not the one running the server) and it works like a charm.
Thx again for the quick reaction and fix.
Kind regards,

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian Wheezy

Gerrelt, Thanks for the fix. I'll try it and report back. Probably XBMC checks the USB soundcard at start-up resulting in the device being busy for a short period of time. It should be released afterwards (after about 10 sec apparently) because, in my case, XBMC is configured to use HDMI out for bot...

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian Wheezy

I'm not sure whether or not there is a difference between Raspbmc and Rasbian. I thought Raspbmc was just a tweaked version of Raspbian (i.e. Raspbian image with pre-compiled xbmc software), but, as stated, I'm not sure.

I added "sudo /etc/init.d/squeezelite start" to rc.local before the exit 0 line.

Re: [Tutorial] Squeezelite up and running on Raspbian Wheezy

Hi Gerrelt, Thanks for the great and very clear tutorial and the startup script. As some other users have reported, I'm also having trouble with auto starting squeezelite at boot. I have 3 Rpi's, all running squeezelite and your script on top of Raspbmc (with one running LMS in addition) and all 3 u...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Hi everyone, It was with great interest that I have been reading this thread over the last couple of days. Started out with the thread on the release of version 4, just to figure that it was outdated (it was good for my general knowledge though, being a complete Linux noob). Anyway, I think I'm read...
