Re: Set up headless file server.

Does your TV have HDMI? I have mine hooked up to that if i need to access it directly rather than via SSH.
You could buy a card with Jessie already loaded, but for the sake of a couple of ££ you may as well get a card reader, makes life a lot easier if you need to update the card or troubleshoot.

Re: Teamspeak 3

Actually Teamspeak are very reasonable over their licencing! You can use their software to host an unlicensed server that will be limited to 32 slots. You can also apply for a non-profit licence if you are a larger game group or clan and dont charge your members for access etc. I have such a licence...

Re: RS: Your item is being despatched

I have now received 3 dispatch emails (12 June, and 2 on 21 June) from parcel force for my order with RS, but still no Pi. Each one has a different ref number on and they all have blank info on the parcel force tracking web site. When you ring RS about is, they just say they cant tell you anything a...

Re: Debian Hard Float (armhf) for RPi

Well ive got Hexxeh's image loaded and updated. Ran into a few SD card issues, but the new card ive got seems to run well with the latest firmware etc. Had to update manually as rpi-update started throwing mmc0 errors. I've updated everything and got Iceweasel working, seems to be quite acceptable a...

Re: The new forums are here!

Just to echo what a lot of others have said: Thanks for the new software, its much better. Please tone the white down, its really hard on the eyes. How about expanding that background on the top menu bar to the whole page? Please expand it so it uses all of my screen. This would also help with the a...

Re: SD card performance testing

<t>Thanks for the reply Graham, i did see that thread, but i'm also not sure of the value given the difference in hardware. The only way to get a useful benchmark has to be to do it on the hardware we are interested in.<br/> <br/> I've not tried dd on my Raspi yet but will do later. If we can agree ...

Re: SD card performance testing

<t>Hi All,<br/> <br/> Well my little box of tricks arrived at the weekend! Got it up and running with Debian, but I've not had much time to play with it as yet. I want to get a couple more SD cards to try different builds etc, so I was wondering if anyone else has started doing to tests of different...
